Poll time again peeps
Im seeing more and more issues related to HTT/Divider and Multis on the new CPU's. So which peeps believe tht there is an issue and should DFI help us out with it
Yes, get on it right away!!!
No, they got better things to spend there time on
Problem, wht problem???

i say yes, but it's not just a problem with the new cores. even with my clawhammer, i can't use the ram divider properly
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them
I look forward to a BIOS that allows all dividers and multis work as they should for Rev E CPUs.

i'm in this boat... my week 17 3200+ does 10x270 1:1 with my bh-5 at stock volts but the second I throw in a divider and raise HTT I reboot or lockup....
edit: dividers do work.. was using 310 official and it was a no go... flashed back to 217 and all is great!! venice 3200 @ 3.3ghz

dividers work just fine, IMO. you have to play with max async and read preamble. you cannot use the same values you used while on 1:1. the same holds true for .5x multi's as well (which is a harder battle to overcome (for me anyways while in yellow, hehe)).
edit: dram response time in the 510's has eased the burden of using a divider as well.

jesus christ this board is tricky... man im gonna be spending alot of time with this one
Yeah - most definately! All sorts of issues with 510 - any version. To get a decent clock (under phase) I have to drop the multi to X10, and te divider to 150 - otherwise no dice.
Using 310p my O/C is nearly 200mhz higher with a X11 multi, than with 510! Seriously screwed, yet 510 is fast heading for official status? What gives? Relaxing max async latency and read preamble does not help me one bit.

you know i never did try 310p on SD core. i should give it a whirl. any quirks from what you can see?

All seems smooth so far. Just as fast as 510-2, but allows me to get to nearly 3300 with a X11 multiplier & mem divider, rather than 3100. I didn't have any more luck with the hellfire bios either.
However, san diego is supposed to not be supported with 310?

not 'officially' i dont think. im using yellow, so if i flash to 310 to test, ill get the message ("for dual channel.. hit f1.."). thatll be a pain.. hehe. maybe ill give it a go one of these days..

Is there anything 2-17 can't do? I love it.Originally Posted by gocchin

Hmm, I'm glad you said something. I'm using a may bios now, but I was going to flash tonight. Where did you hear this?
Forget the new cores. I couldn't even get 5x htt to work on my board with a Winny.

Hmm, I tried 0217, 0414-3, 0510-3, 0310, and I tweaked MAL and RPT with no success in getting any divider to work. Argh.Originally Posted by gocchin

EDIT: Divider works with TCCD but not UTT, maybe the high voltage is too much stress on the mem controller??

this is a venice and the divider is fine.
man this mobo is tricky and picky, i might get another mobo or wait until ati releases their bullhead too many probs for me, i wanna oc but this is also my rig for 24/7
My 9/10 divider works, but the others two (the two right next to it) I've tried cause BSODs.
trans am,
their are setting tht work fine, but there r settings in which all tweaking in the world does not help, even though all pieces of hardware work at the frequencies tht they are being tested at. We need some advice from peeps who know abt the bios and the hardware, to give us an insight on wht is causing these issues

I'll revisit this. I posted a review of the 3700 San Diego here .
The important stuff was in post 11, not the review. Tref value seemed critical, but even more so was using a 10.5 multiplier (yes I know they don't work properly ). Using the values in A64 tweaker, the 10.5 multiplier and 180 divider, I was able to get my BH6 above 260MHz, 1.5,2,2,5, whereas before I was stuck below 250MHz
Settings were 10.5*302 (11X289) with 180:200 divider. This worked fine from bios as well as clockgen.

I dont have problems with any divider with my dfi slid + venice + bh5. Using 510-2.

Looking at the poll 58 out of 79 voters did, which is why I post what I did to get me around it. I too am using 510-2 but was having big problems prior to these tweaks.
EDIT - I can't see what you are running your venice at, but I didn't have a problem until mine was running above 3Ghz.

Having probs with UTT on divider , seems alittle better whit EB (micron)
Still testing..
