That's some great father-son family values LikwidKool.

I used to do the same thing as a child helping my dad; he's a master carpenter tho so he made me a tiny cute tool box just for me !

I know those times with my dad where the most formative times of my youth ever.Your son will forever be thankfull for all the quality times you spent together.

I have problems getting my fx55 over 3050mhz on the sli-dr. Its under a vapochill and load temps at 3ghz are -45. I've tried everything from lowering HT to 200 and upping multi, to having 300 HT and having 11x multi. I've also tried vcore from 1.5v - 1.86v and still no luck. Any suggestions? Or have I just got an unlucky fx55 that wont OC for crap?
    Thanks, Zxcs

I removed the NB fan and replace the "thermal gum" with some AS5, the temp is now 10C lower!

I've got that stuff on my AXP board. 218mhz is the limit I can hit, and its probly not mem test stable.

    Smile Alternative nF4 cooling @ DFI SLI-D

My first post.... Some people has been discussing how to fit in an alternative nF4 cooler than the crappy default one. Unmodded my chipset run at 42-45 degrees, even higher during oc. Since I have a 6800 Ultra with reference cooler blowing hot air right on top of the nF4 chipset I started by cut out a curved bit of plastic(from an icecream box) . Put it on the end of the 6800 over the nF4 so it directs the air up instead. That lowered temp with about 2 degrees. Still not happy I ordered an Revoltec VGA/Chipset Type 2 copper cooler, the one for GeForce4Ti 4200-4800 SE/GeForceFX 5600 Ultra. I had to to drill new holes for the vinyl mounts(52mm apart) and file down a couple of mm of the coolers edge at two places. Near the capacitor and near the crystal. Check out the pics. Now nF4 runs at 34 degrees idle and 36 degrees full load...max overclocked!
And it runs much more stable.

Here you go. I used Arctic Silver 5. I should point out that the Revoltec cooler is in fact about 1mm lower than the stock one, so there's no risk it will touch the graphiccard. Also since it's made of copper its very easy to cut/dremel. Check out the blue plastic attached to graphiccard, steering away hot air.
