    Unlocked Venice 3000+

    Strange thing happened...

I replace CPUs (4000+ sandy ==> 3000+ venice) and venice have unlocked multipliers to 25x. I tried another CPUs and clear CMOS, but venice is still unlocked. I think, that something was burned inside venice.
And my question is: How find what was happened with my venice? Is possible to unlock another CPU, if i will know whats happened in this event?

    heres pics: http://www.pirs.vyrobce.cz/venice.htm
    I have DFI NF4 Ultra-D, 2x512 RAM, 6800GT, 425W Enermax PSU

and sorry for my bad english...

Have you looked to see if there is anything strange looking about your chip?

Have you tried removing the IHS yet? It might be interesting to see if there is any obvious physical damage.

    BTW:
    DFI nF4 Ultra-D
1 GB of OCZ PC3700EL Platinum TCCD
    AMD 3500+ Clawhammer (XP-120)
    eVGA 6200 -> 6600 softmod

venice looks normal, no visible damage, all pins ok, IHS is not removed

I don't think he did anything. He just put it in and it was unlocked.

    Pretty interesting.

I think that any previous used CPU is irrelevant. Is here somebody, who know
how compare my unlocked venice with normal venice and find the difference?

Buy yourself a normal 3000 venice and compare...
I would compare it both HW (look under IHS) and SW (WPCREDIT) way
congrats on unlocked venice and try to find out what happend

Your cpu is very important to find out how to unlock the cpu's if it's possible...

I don't understand much about electronics but seeing resistance on pins would help.

Having unlocked AMD64s would be very nice.

    Hi,

congrats! this proves again that nothing is impossible with amd 64!

maybe you've accidently found out how to unlock your cpu? (would be awesome)

anyway, if you're prepared to take detailed pics of your pins, your core (no heatspreader) I think that would help.
