i had a single stick of crucial value that did 263mhz at 3-3-3 without a hitch on the newark.. dunno how they're doing these days, or how 2 sticks would do
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

Thanks for the reply ozzi, you don't happen to know which IC's that memory used do ya? Thanks in advance.

I put another 10th of a volt on the 4000 Newark making it 1.68v and found another 70MHz on air to 3,293MHz.
My ambient room temperature was 75F.

    Thanks high5!

You can't imagine how hard I looked for another 7MHz...

Fricken sick vector7, quite a chip you've got there.

Anyone seen any other results out of the 4000+ yet?

heres a tweak i used a few times:
point a vacuum cleaner at the heatsink

be carefull it doesnt get too close and damage the hardware though.
in the end any vacuum cleaner is nothing but a very strong fan...

I would open a window but with 50-60F nights here it wouldn’t help much, I know I tried it...

I wasn’t brave enough to put the vacuum hose in with all the fans spinning.
    So I’m still 7MHz short of 3300MHz.

The 3293MHz is a kill shot.
To get 3293MHz I had to raise the vcore to 1.7v. On air it gets real warm real quick, idling around 110F. Water would probably get things out past 3300MHz and some serious cooling would make this chip soar.

Here are some of differences I’ve seen between the Clawhammer-vs-4000+ Newark.
The core on the 4000+ Newark is smaller than the Clawhammer. Maybe 25-30% making the idle temps warmer by around 7F. I’ve been trying to utilize the higher MHz speeds this CPU is capable of. But on air it's like walking a tight rope with voltage on one side of the beam and heat on the other.

I have found that this chip scales upward easily on air:
    1.350v 2800MHz
    1.450v 3000MHz
    1.525v 3050MHz.

It’s getting 3.1-3.2Gigs stable on air that’s the balancing act.
    I ran 3DMark at 3133MHz. At 3185Mhz I ran PiFast=40.08Secs & SPI 1M=29Secs. I ran all of these at 1.550v.

The 4000+ Newark I have doesn’t mind voltage as I have had it up to 1.7-1.8v for short periods at or above 50C without problems. I found that at 3185Mhz on air 1.58v made the CPU load temps go beyond 50C to 53C. At this speed and heat benchmarks would fail after awhile. If I kept the vcore at 1.550v it would run longer at or just above 50C. If you could keep temps significantly below 50C you could probably then run intensive benches reliably at or above 3200MHz. You really need better than air-cooling to live beyond 3200MHz. I bought this chip as an upgrade from the 3400 Clawhammer. You should be able to run it at 3000-3100MHz with premium air-cooling all day. For me the Newark 4000+ was a worthy 500MHz upgrade not having to change board and vcard. I would like to see others put some serious cooling to one and find out what these chips are really capable of.

    well, it's 90nm vs 130nm..

Verry nice results indead, Making the move to another DFI board for my X2, this dam Asrock has been a pain in the ass with these dimms too, I hope I can eventually find a motherboard that likes em at 1T or even 1:1 so far the asrock 1:1 250-248

I want to get this 4000 but I am afraid that I may kill it with my Scythe Ninja...any ideas how to install it safely?

snap her in and bolt her down.

these cores can take alot more then you think, ive never seen a cracked A64 personaly.

i mean, be careful, but it should be able to take it.

yeah, good point, be sure to lay case flat and put even pressure on, i kind of considered that a given though, sorry.

i killed my newark pretty easily. it's not quite as strong as you would think, when you appy force at an angle. if you go straight down, it can take quite a bit... just don't get it angled at all

btw, how do the 4000+ oc in comparision with the 3700+ ?

Nice scores metalman and vector7, but at what speed are your chips OCCT stable and prime95 small ftts 8hour+ stable?

I have burned too much money on flashy CPUs that do 3 ghz screenshots but arent stable above 2700 for everyday use..

    EDIT:
vector7 is your CPU overclocked through BIOS or do you do it in Windows?
If overclocked through BIOS, don't you get a lot of DETECTING ARRAY bootups?

The UT250 from the bios doesn't have booting up issues...

3.33 @ 1.58v with my new watercooling settup, this chip may still have some more to give.
