    P4 570J E0 arrived

My new toy arrived in the noon today

It´s Malaysian 570J (3.8GHz) cpu from week 38, and best of all its E0 stepping.

    The box

After quick testing it could run SuperPi at 4522MHz (19x238) with stock heatsink and fan (running at full speed) after setting 1.45V from bios

Too bad that macci took my KHX sticks with him to München, so I cant run any proper benches until wendsday. Dammit

    Sweet!

    That's an SL82U, it supports EM64T.

I wish I could find an E0 in the states.

I believe that all 3.8ghz Prescotts are E0, so once newegg gets 'em in, us Americans can get them

Hmmm according to this Intel document it does.

Is there any way of checking? Will CPUZ show it?

4500MHz ON AIR, and you aren't really impressed? You are really extreme

Has this and the trip to Germany something to do with the ace Macci mentioned ealier?

...mmmm....4.5ghz on AIR wonder what those things would do under water or chilled water....I'm just waiting for someone to get 5ghz on water some day...I don't think that will happen yet, but after seeing those screen shots...what ever your doing over in Germany or where ever let us know when your done!

it's kinda hard to be impressed with only a 700 mhz OC, especially for a P4.
but the shots do show some incredible potential for sub zero, and LN2

yeah but you have to look at it from this point of view, its the highest clocked stock Prescott around, 3.8ghz is all the farther Intel is taking there P4. So Intel won't be looking into ways to make that chip clock anyfarther. It seems that basicly most of the Intel's research teams are working on dual core, so little work will be done here.

but it's still only 700 mhz.

if you had a 4.0 ghz P4, would you be stoked that it was doing 4.4 ghz stable?
    I wouldn't.
4.5 ghz just isn't that much these days.
people have been breaking 5 ghz on phase change for quite a while now.
6 ghz is the new 5 ghz.
thats what makes 4.5 ghz kinda small these days.
    it's good and all.
its just not the same as when you use to get a 2.4C and get 3.6 ghz out of it easy.
but these definatly are the last of the breed, so it's nice to see some numbers outta them, but I am more interested in what it does under better cooling.

if a 3.6 can get 6.3 ghz, what in the world will this thing do?
thats what I can't wait to see

i'd like to see some 5-5.5ghz 3dmark runs... we've seen superpi runs up to 5.7ghz, lets see some 3d runs.

6 ghz is the new 5 ghz.
how true, and 5ghz is the new 4ghz... being do-able with -40C, as opposed to having to have ln2.

    yep
time goes on, but remember that you just said phase change, doing 5ghz and this is only air doing 4.5ghz so still it ain't that bad...

that's generally how it goes.. higher the rating cpu usually on average means a higher average max stable oc (disregarding phase change cooling)
