    The Official 915P Thread, now testing Gigabyte boards.

    Just received the GA8I915P Duo-A board, be back in 30 minutes with a beginning of the review.

    First the bios
    vdimm as usual only goes up +.3v
    Cpu volts go from .8375-1.6v
    pci-e goes up to +.3v(need a pci-e card to test that)
    c.i.a2 there oc utility I am just using cpu host clock control.

    The board has 4 sata ports i can use raid 0, 1, 0+1 and jbod.
    It also has 1 ide port and 2 via raid ports only.
    2 gigabit ethernet ports.

    throw in some Micron or Crucial PC4300 DDR2 and see how high you can get the FSB

    Never expected gigabyte to be extreme, but this is the first few tests so just hold on.
    CPU runs at 45c at stock. My antec psu is really hot.hmmmmm

    It seems that the higher you go in fsb the board automatically lowers the timings.

    upped the fsb to 230 and gaing 170points in 3d01

    nice althes, could you send a newegg link to that board, cant find any Gigabyte board except the i865PE one with AGP!

    oh and please run super pi at the max overclocked settings you can do.

    no clockgen for this board.
    It definitely needs a vdimm mod. It overvolts +.1 dimm.
    I just ran superrpi will put it up soon.

    You should be gettin like in the 40sec zone
    remember if u want to adjust ram timins or other hidden options just press ctrl+f1 in the main bios screen

    wow, that 1mb Super Pi is horrible. what happend?


    the memory bandwidth looks good and on par with Sandra scores, 3dmark looks on par too. i think it's too early to tell, but this platform isn't exactly targeted towards extreme benchmarking. more of a face lift on old technology. I think the best features from 915,925 are Intel's azalia 8-channel fidelity sound, PCIe, and Intel Matrix storage. the cpu and memory are on par and doesn't really need improvement.

    Althes, maybe try testing with DDRI?? low CAS timings.
