    Fortron 530 watt PS

    Stumbled across something i was looking for in OC fourms

    http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.p...19#post2416319

    Maxvla in that forum and a member here. has one of these supplies, i've got one that wont be here till monday, My ttgi just cant hold the 3.3v above 4ghz without it dropping to below 3v.

    Notice the adjustable pots 5 total, 2 are for fans, the others are for 5,12, and 3.3v. Easy to get to. A nice slot cut in the top of the supply would be an easy mod and easy adjustments, or moving the board to get to it easier is probably and option too.

    I need 3.5v+ for my ram to kick ass. My ANTEC or TTGI cant handle it. Tired a fortron 350 a couple weeks ago and seems better than either or my previous listed.

    andthe fortron 350 is heavier than both my antec and ttgi

    Some pics here posted with Maxvla's permission he took.

    Thanks again Maxvla

    Saaya has a Fortron 350, and I have a Fortron 530 comming soon.. 8-)

    I had a HIPRO 200w that ran better than my Antec 400w smartpower and Enermarx 430w whisper, but sadly it died from being overloaded... the guts looked the exact same as in those pics 8-)

    Cant wait for it, gonna put a blue led fan in mine and probably drill holes for access to the pots

    i'm no psu guru. i just buy good units and use them.

    i've never adjusted the pots on this psu so i'm not sure. for that matter i've never adjusted the pots on any psu cause i never needed to.

    how far should i turn these to see which one is which? i've got a caseless rig up and running at the moment i could use to figure this out.

    ok.. well 4 of the 5 work and the 5th... i'm not sure what it does or if it was incorrectly hooked up.

    i've got mad paint skillz so here you guys go all color coordinated..

    Red = 3.3v
    Blue = 5v?? (non working)
    Fushia = 12v
    Green = 2 fan controllers (very small adjustment at idle.. perhaps alot more noticeable at higher temp)

    Stock readings via Shuttle AK39 KT400 mobo:

    3.3v = 3.29 rock solid
    5v = 5.02-5.05
    12v = 12.01-12.05

    max settings:

    3.3v = 3.77+ (didn't want to go any higher :o)
    5v = ?? (5.05 is the highest it was at any point in my adjustments)
    12v = 12.28

    3.3v rail is rock solid on this psu. 5v is pretty stable. 12v is pretty jumpy. when i had it cranked up all the way it would jump around from 12.18-12.28. stock setting it would jump from 12.01-12.05.

    i'm not sure why the one pot didn't change anything. anyone got a clue?

    Also Maxvla look down on the main circuit board at the bottom if there are anymore pots on the main board of the PS.

    Been getting the 350's from dealsonic.com for folding rigs, and customer replacements

    http://www.dealsonic.com/fohiqat35atp.html These things are heavier than the Antecs and TTGI's and hold the volts better than both my 550's. And all 3 pots adjustable. Dam $19 without shipping.

    $74 shipped isnt too bad for the 530

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...=BROWSE&depa=1

    Seems there's a 550watt version too.

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...=BROWSE&depa=1

    It's no PCpowerandcooling. But im going to put it 2nd, And i've tried every brand, enermax,antec,powmax,ttgi,etc and had a PCpower 425watter also.

    Red = 3.3v adjustment
    Blue = overvolt adjustment
    Fushia = +5v/+12v adjustment
    Green = overvolt adjustment

    That's how I see it. The overvolt adjustments are for the +3.3v, +5v, and +12v rails. It's the voltage where the PS will kick off.

    +3.3v max ~ 3.8v
    +5.0v max ~ 5.4v
    +12.0v max ~ 14.0v

    Those are my findings at least.

    The 550watt version is for servers unfortunatly.

    In the OC classies there's one for cheap though.

    Hmmm I was thinking about getting a ttgi to replace my 420w channel well but if these fortrons are what you guys say they are maybe I'll give them a try.

    Well I dont need to adjust any it looks like.

    12v @ 12.20
    5v @ 5.17
