I think that if FSB:RAM is 1:1 it can go under 10sec...

I agree, if you set the memory to 1:1 and run it at something like 3-3-3-8 or so, then you could get under 10sec easily

but you're going to need apply a lot of voltage for 3-3-3-8 at 440mhz

Guys, Denny is a very experienced Pi bencher, and the asynchronous operation only helps the time. (it's already very efficient, and dropping to 1:1 no matter what the latencies would hurt it) Sub-10 isn't nearly as easy as it looks like at first glance. It takes around 5.1GHz with most hardware combinations. So far the lowest clock to achieve it was 5040MHz.

Nice chip there Denny...you're making many of us jealous I'm sure.

Yeah, many of us can only dream of ever getting a cpu worth $1400 or so, not to mention an es chip before everyone else

What I'm wondering if using an e6850 instead on an x38 board would allow for under 10sec, as I read somewhere that the dual core counterparts surpass their quads at most benchmarks (plus it would be easier to clock a native chip instead of a dual die in theory)

i probably not going to use E6850 to run Super pi. since P35 over FSB499 doesn't do so well. that just my 2c

Yeah, but I said x38 because aren't those supposed to have fully unlocked mults, or is that just the rumor that intel wants people to think?

Denny: Any idea what that beast will run at on air for a 24/7 loaded situation?

I think that will change once ClockGen is out for P35 Set 498FSB in BIOS and clock past it in windows to hold the strap?

My guess is 4Ghz on air with a relatively safe vcore.

3.9G for 24/7. 4G you need 1.52v and not sp2004 stable... also if runs it inside the case... not a good idea XD

lol, score on 975x is too low, this is results on asus striker.
    4793mhz=7108
boot at 333*14=4.66G with ram=ddr2-667 5-4-4-9-2T loosen timings
clkgen to 4793mhz, so ram about ddr2-710.

intel chipset should be about at least 500score higher than this
    see this 320*14=4.8G ram=ddr2-853 3-3-3-8, cpu score=7610.
if fsb and ramclk higher, 7700 so easy.

so, maybe that's why ur chip are running higher clk on ws-pro than other mobo, 'coz not 4core full loaded, or maybe only 3cores enabled.
4.9G should be about 7850 cpu score.
