If you don't need Xfire or SLI then this is the mobo to get!

I just got this mobo in and the starting test are mind blowing.
The mob is a Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H (rev. 1.0) and Newegg has them for $87 using a AMD 690G chipset and is a full ATX.

The quick tests are with memtest86 and the max HTT I was able to post and run memtest86 with out problems was HTT435 . I was looking for HTT300 so Ill take HTT435 any day. The NB gets hot so a better heatsink or a fan is needed for OCing on this mobo.

Heres a link to this mobo at Newegg.

Here you go. This is the best I could get in windows stable. I found out the clock gen really gets hot over HTT300 and need a fan or heatsink if OCing.

If you get this mobo you need to know that the memory control setting are hidden and you need to hit Ctrl + F1 to show them in BIOS. The other thing to get high HTT is to lower the HT signal strengths in the hidden area to 3 up and 3 down.

i might just as well buy this one...

it has a built-in gpu with vga and hdmi port that supports hdmi audio. the onboard gpu is even overclockable via the bios!!!
but DOES the onboard gpu support h.264 decoding!?!
spdif optical and oldschool parallel ports?
if it had a serial port, it would cover everything

it also supports SURROUNDVIEW technology – a feature that allows ATI RADEON 9100 IGP-based system to work with up to three displays when an additional AGP graphics card is installed and integrated core is functional.

the onboard gpu sucks for gaming, but it's still a gpu. so in case ur 8800ultra or 2800xtx dies because you thought the memory coudl do 3GHz, you can still play quake3 or CS 1.6 on your onboard video!

it DOES support crossfire. interesting to see how crossfire would perform at 4x, but that second slot DOES support a FULL LENGTH card at 4x and you CAN run Crossfire!!

"Dual PCI-E graphics interfaces to support ATI CrossFire technology"

    http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...e=GA-MA69G-S3H

My questtion- can u run a regular single or just a secondary card there without crossfire?

Avoid DFI if you're going with Brisbane, the headaches of getting them to work with the damn 65nm processors are more than its worth.

I have booted up with a video card in the PCI-E 4x slot as the primary video with out any problems.

The screen shot was with the mem divider at DDR2 400 and it was with a Enermax 600W noisekiller. The northbridge heat sink need help when overclocking by replacing it with a better one or by adding a fan to it.

I think its +.55V for the CPU and +.5V for the memory.

I made a mistake about the voltage for the memory. Its +.6 and not +.5. The would put a max of 2.4V for the memory.

    All from BIOS.

I do more testing when I upgrade my system with the same mobo. This first one was for my fathers system upgrade and Im not missing with that system any more. I upgrade my system in about a month and I do some high end tweaking on that one and see what the mobos max is. The realy nice thing in the BIOS is the HT signal drive strength setting that allow for the high HTT.
