    a Bad E6750es,but when the IHS Removed ....... !!!

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/sho … p?t=136776

Because I saw this thread, So I decided to remove IHS

    and DONE !

I saw that the core is not smooth
so it was very hot (SP2004 1.17V 3.2G 110'C and reboot)

    Then I cleaned them

    and painted Aritric Silver 5

it is not too hot now , Idle 10'C lower .

    and SP2004 40'C Lower !!!! (77~78'C)

    Ambiant = 24'C

    Now it has better performance

yes , i put the IHS back

beacause it can't use without IHS (the base of T120/U120/ZALMAN etc. too big , and it cant touch the core)

there is a way if you remove the intel metal mounting but you have to be careful mounting the heatsink

i've done that with AMD and Sonic Tower and it was amazing how low the temps were >>> i had like 8-10C Delta temps it was amazing

    good work

should be that the sensor is not ok...78°C are very high, and 110°C are crazy for a cpu like that...think something is wrong

Might be an ES CPU which was used for burn-in testing.

    ..

    Good Job.. very good job

If you're using Core Temp 0.95 to measure the temperature, then try the 0.94 version and see if that's more realistic. It helped on my system
But if it rebooted, it has to have been very hot - unless you'd set a shutdown temperature or something?

Thats gotta be a sensor problem , how can a CD2 possibly keep living at 110c! Mine can't stand 80 let alone anything higher

Anyway, nice work with that IHS

Wow that's extremely hot it has to be a problem with the temperature probe... I mean seriously, 110*C, you wouldn't need to get up from your desk to boil the kettle and make a cup of tea! Anyway, nice job with the removal of the IHS sure looked messy before cleaning
