Catalyst™ 7.2 introduces a brand new version of the Catalyst™ Control Center for Windows XP. The new Catalyst™ Control Center delivers a number of significant enhancements:

-New 3D preview which significantly improves the ability for users to understand the benefits of enabling the many Catalyst™ features of their ATI Radeon™ graphics accelerator
    -Increased stability
    -Native 32 and 64-bit support

I know it's a .Net issue but can't find the solution, I use to have 2.0 (final) then installed all kinds of versions even compact with sp1 and 3.0 and still no success, I'm not a programmer so I have no idea about what it means.

PS.I didn't get no error wile installing NF, all installed perfectly.

you should un-install .net 2.0, 3.0, 1.1SP1, and then reinstall only those that are needed. i choose all three...1.1, then sp1, then 2.0(and 1.1 updates), then 3.0.

I install all .net using Microsoft update..dunno if that might make a difference.

.net is not backwards compatible...so please just install final versions direct from Microsoft...no reason to use anything else. .net 2.0 package on RD600 cd is corrupt, for example.

I still have problems in Vista with this Driver. When I clone my picture (wanna use theatermode) my max resolution on my screen goes to 1024*768. Extended works great thought.

And my second problem is when I overclock with overdrive my screen starts to blink rapidly.

Then your Windows is corrupted. Re-format re-install and the problem will be gone.

Ok now, THAT IS THE WORST ADVICE, never do that again unless you know it's absolutely necessary , the problem was not Win Related, I found the solution - the thing is you need to have .NF installed and fully registered before you install ATI CCCP, my mistake was doing that at the same time with CCCP installation.

Removed .NF + All ATi Package -> Restart->Installed .NF ->Log Off ->Installed ATi package and all works fine.

What is this .NF? You mean .inf? You mean you properly uninstalled and re-installed driver, .net, and CCC, and now have no issues? I assume you did this from the start. There is only one good way to update drivers.

.NF =.Net Framework, I did reinstalled the driver and then then .NF even installed all the possible versions of .NF from net and nothing work, the thing is - it needs something from .NF to end the proper installation, nothing like this happened before with other software that depends on .NF.

Anyway I fought they actually changed the CCCP (not .NF based) but it's still the same ..., the driver gives those performances not the CCCP, and honestly I'm uninstalling this .NF/CCCP cause it's just bogus, my Firewall pops all this warnings:

About 6 or 7 of them, this is not a proper CCCP this is a Spyware if you ask me, ATi is gathering information or something and I don't like it one bit, plus you can sue them for this because you have the single "Display Driver" as an alternative, nobody's forcing you to use CCCP so I guess I won't, all my respect for the driver developing team, and none for the CCCP developing team I still thing there a bunch of n00bs learning with .NF

Of course, however you don't know what to expect when .net is corrupt in the first place.

127.0.0.1 is loopback IP. That's not real network traffic, and your firewall needs some updating, IMHO. 127.0.0.1 RUN AWAY!!!

Look, I got many pc's, and many differnt videocards. Not one had an issue like you did in installing. the machine I am typing from now just had windows installed and updated, and the new driver installed with no issues. There's something wrong with your .net. rectify that issue, and the driver will work as it should.

has anyone tried this on the x1950 pro? it does have an option for the x1950 series, but it did in the last release as well, as pretty much I've been running the drivers my card came with to keep from having any issues. thanks

Fast computers breed slow, lazy programmers
The price of reliability is the pursuit of the utmost simplicity. It is a price which the very rich find most hard to pay.

Nope it wasn't - I installed other application based on .NF and work just fine, uninstall CCCP and .NF and install them at the same time and you'll see what I mean.

Look, I got many pc's, and many differnt videocards. Not one had an issue like you did in installing. the machine I am typing from now just had windows installed and updated, and the new driver installed with no issues. I've tried .NF from different places Update/M$ site and all did the same, I told you, If you remove all and install .NF first all runs fine, you already had .NF installed and thats why you didn't get this problem.

127.0.0.1 is loopback IP. That's not real network traffic, and your firewall needs some updating, IMHO. 127.0.0.1 RUN AWAY!!!
That's not the point, it shouldn't have done none of that, one is normal but 6 or 7 is stupid, if you take one programmer from this forum it might do a better job, Ray Adams the creator of ATT has done wonders with no support from ATI.

use the driver without CCCP and it runs beautifully
I know, that's how I used all version before, just wanted to know what's so innovative about their latest CCCP and I've seen enough, back to Driver + ATT .

okay, so you installed driver first, and had issues...so you installed .net AFTER the driver? The warning when installing the driver that .net should be there first was not warning enough? The same warning that was on the download page for the driver, marking .net as required, but is now removed? I guess it needs to be put back...

I'm sry, but I fail to see how this is anyone's fault but your own. The loopback, yes, maybe excessive, but it's not like it's spyware.
