They overclock mad high on core. As good as 9500 pro or even better on core part. Now, 9500 Pro takes memory part. So... all in all they turn out to be even if you plan to oc this.
it's nice to know that the 9600s are hitting the shelves already. i'm not sure about overclocking though, might have to wait for a few reviews to come out.
ive heard the 9500s wil lOC better because the 9500s were the 9700 chips ddowncloced wheras the 9600 chips are actually downgraded
i thought the 9500s had a 128 bit memory bus instead of the 256 bit bus that the 9700s have.
check out tom's hardware for a review

ok, read the review, the 9600 sucks.
well but i also read somewhere that they oced a 9600 pro sample to like 400+ something and that it outperformed a 9500pro ...not sure though
that's possable, the 9600 uses a .13 micron core while the 9500 uses .15 micron. too bad it's not moddable like the 9500.
HOOOOLY shiznit!

570mhz core 357mhz memory maximum oc of a 9600pro with default cooling, no mod!
please note the first 22 characters of that link.....
I would go with everyone else and suggest a Sapphire 9500.
Wes
wow, 570MHz is pretty impressive.

it should overclock well. the core design is the same as R300, but it is shrunken t .13micron isntead of .15. makes it a lot less power huingry, and cooler. I sense a mid-high range winner
no its not the same design
