[Xtrem Insane] 256mo Kingston pc 4200 WR ??

    Hello All

I wanted to buy a ram to test my vmod vddr and I chose a 256mo PC 4200 c4 from Kingston

By chance , it had Chips Micron (D9DCD) which I dont know

    Configuration of Test :

    C2D 6300 step B2 (Big Typhoon)
Biostar 965 PT (Vmod vddr )
    1x256mo Kingston pc 4200 (papst 80mm)
    Msi X300SE 128mo
    OCZ GameXstream 700w Sli Ready
    Hitachi 250go Sata

Max Vddr of benchs = 3.6v (100% because 1.8v origin)

Max vddr Bios = 3.74v , Very Stupid but the mobo still function

    Cas 3-3-3-15 at 3.6v

    Max screen 461.4mhz 3/3/3/15 at 3.6v

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=136850

    Cas 4-4-4-15 at 3.32v

    100% cas 4

    Max Cas 4

    Cas 5-5-5-15 at 3.28v

Max 592 but no screen (Bug Ram now )

    Max Screen 600Mhz (599.99mhs exactly) 5/5/5/12 at 3.32v

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=136851

Now the RAM boot which 2.6v has minimum, stable Windows has 2.8/2.9v lol, I think of putting it under caskade (- 85&#176 to see the max benchs Cas 3 as well as the max Fréquency Cas 5

that is a lot from stock my guess is that d9 is similar to others but just needs ton of volts to work at high speeds.

    3.6v is just insane

As ozzimark pointed out D9DCD ICs are indeed CC-37E which are present on my Micron DDR2 IC Info page.
Another version called CC-37E IT is also available.

The only differences between the two:

    CC-37E operating temp.: 0°C (32°F) » 85°C (185°C)
    CC-37E IT operating temp.: -40°C (-40°F) » 95°C (203°F)

Nice find! They are extremely rare.

the IT version, the industrially spec'ed chip, is D9GHK

I accidentally gave ~3.8V for my Rhino PC2-8000F5M sticks (D9GCT) because my Fluke multimeter had low battery
I noticed this after the SuperPI gave constant errors and the motherboard shut down due OVP.

I ran SuperPI and other benches for over an hour.

Luckily the sticks seem to be completely undamaged.

The modules were cooled with 3mm thick alu spreaders and 80mm fan.

Maybe it is not the voltage alone but the overheating which kills / degrades them.

    Hi the stilt

Yes indeed, I think that of fort vddr (+ of 3.3/3.4v) degrades the chips considerably , personally I thus have benchs during 4 a 5 hours between 3.3v and 3.6v not astonishing that my ram doesn't function correctly any more, (it is necessary 2.8/2.9v well for him to go under Windows now )

my biostar 965 Pt has your bios mod (large a thank) it still misses stability in this bios, I have some bugs since the departure (detection of my hdd according to the fsb, fsb max bios of 500, the cuts with my caskade (- 80°) but that remains excellent a mobo for overclocking

I am in the search of vmod Vmch (not yet the vmod vcore ,
I miss 50k ) finally if you have bios or vmod on this biostar, I accept them with great pleasure

    Thank all
