Ok, here's the problem.
Me and a friend have tested out about 18 sticks of OEM 1GB PC2-4200 D9DQW.
Now, this stuff will not boot in an Asus P5B-DLX(i965 chipset), Asus P5N32-SLI (nForce 4 SLI chipset), Asus P5AD2-Premium (Intel 925X chipset), Asus P5WD2-Premium (Intel 955X chipset).
So I have contacted the original reseller, and he says that they work fine in a Dimmtester.com SP3000, in a Gigabyte 8VM800PMD(VIA chipset), and in a
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3(i965).
Lastly, he told me they were High Density Memory(128x4)![]()
Asus purposely does not insert support for high density memory in their bioses.
But that's not even my real question, the whole high density memory aspect confuses the hell out of me. How do you turn perfectly functioning Fatbody D9 into high density crap without remaining it? Does it come down to the IC maker or the actual stick builder?!
