I have a L629B also. It's not a special chip, overclocks just about as much as any other. Does 3.2GHz at default volt. I don't understand the hysteria about certain weeks...
its the "B" that makes it a good chip

Just to confirm I have a L629B003 and I wouldn't says its that good, above average thats all. My L629A531 is far better and will do 3.6 at default volts and run over 4G's.

my 629b e6300 runs at 3.3 at 1.385v. prob lower but i haven't tried.
Where are you getting the voltage to the 1000th of a volt?
The motherboard sets to 1.35, etc.
Where do you get the 1.385?

Damn, 1.18vcore???? That's amazing! My E6600 isn't stable as soon as it drops below 1.3vcore at 3ghz.
I also noticed your VID shows up in Coretemp as 1.2375v - why's that? Mine shows up as 1.325v, it's a B2 revision as well.

Be very happy. I know people who have E6600's who can't get past 3.5ghz @1.55V
I can't give you those answers, perhaps the rev of the mobo? I hit 3.6Ghz at 1.350V today...

I just received a E6600 from NewEgg and it was L629Bxxxx
So far its been 3DMark2001 and superPI 32M stable at 460x8 and 1.18v (3680MHz). It was also 3DMark stable at 500x6, didnt try superPI.
It was also superPI stable at 430*9 (3870MHz) but crashed halfway through 3DMark. I'm going to try higher voltages tomorrow to see if I can stabilize it at 4GHz but Im pretty happy so far - I wasnt expecting to OC more than 3.2GHz.
PS - Board is P5B Deluxe, Memory G.Skill HZ 2x1GB and Scythe Infinity for cooling.
PPS - Shipped from CA even though Im in NY.
