Buy Core 2 or wait for Kentsfield King!

Today I speech with my friend in taiwan and I found that Kentsfield have 4 model after release but no price is available :
    Kentsfield @ 2GHz 4MB
    Kentsfield @ 2.33 4MB
    Kentsfield @ 2.66 8MB
    Kentsfield @ 3.00 8MB

Now whats the best way? wait for Kentsfield @ 2GHz FSB1333 Quad Core 4MB
(it can reach 3.2GHz easily) or go with Core 2 E6300 @ 3.2GHz??

Dunno....what can you afford?, the 1333FSB CPU will probably need a new motherboard. The Kentsfield we'll see will have a 266FSB.

It depends on the price i guess, if the low end model can overclock easy enough to the high end then why not buy that?

Personally at this stage i'd buy an E6300, new mobo's for the 1333FSB Kentsfield will also have ICH9R + PCI Express 2, DDR3 and also two 16x slots to run SLI...more PCI-E lanes and probably other things.

Most important is the question what you use the computer for.

For games, Kentsfield doesn't offer much over Core 2. For encoding it does.

    QFT.

As long as money isn't an issue, get yourself a quad Clovertown set when they come out instead.

It really depends on if you need it, but if you are going to wait for the better hardware then you will be waiting for eternity.

I'd also keep in mind that Core 2 Quadro will run hotter than Core 2 Duo.

    look here :
Intel zipped up the FSB speed for the Core 2 Quadro to 333 MHz compared with the 266 MHz for Core 2 Duo

Kentsfield @ 2GHz 4MB isnt 1500$!! it lunchs at lower price
    ----
Couple things... This is @ launch by the way. First there are 3 versions of Kentsfield: 2.13, 2.4, and 2.66. Second they are ALL 1066 FSB. As of right now there are NO 1333fsb versions. I know Tom's hardware Guide says they are 1333, but they aren't. He overclocked those and is passing off the overclocked settings as stock. Also... they are all 8mb.

FLG - if the Prescott analogy fits we are talking temps 10-15c higher than a Core duo at the same speed?

I'd get a core 2 now. Kentsfield won't d much for 90% of PC use. Encoding and benching would benefit. Until more apps come out that really capitalize on multi threading 4 cores just isn't going to do huge things for the desktop.

Now, if you are into simple benching....that's another matter
