    Weirdness with the DFI 975X.

    Bios 6-21.

    800 FSB CPU used.
    enable "Enhanced 800 FSB Mode"

    then...

400 MHz Mem speed becomes 4:3

533 MHz Mem speed becomes 1:1

667 MHz Mem speed becomes 3:4 (or 4:5, can't remember)

800 MHz Mem speed becomes 2:3.

no 1:2 ratio when you enable enhanced 800 FSB Mode, but you unlock a lower then 1:1 ratio for the FSB.

this I suppose would be kinda interesting for a person wanting to break the 500+ FSB mark, without the Ram Holding you back.

Overclocking with this mode however, gives crazy results.

bandwidth goes nuts, you get crazy speed read outs, like 40 x 1 mhz.

but overclocking with this board becomes super easy, like it goes from boot sometimes. to booting 100% of the time.
getting higher 1:1 ratios, then without the enhanced 800 FSB enabled.

the theory I hear from a friend is...

with a 800 FSB CPU, the board is running with a 800 Strap... and a higher NB multiplier. thats why its harder to OC in 800 Strap Mode.

enabling Enhanced 800 FSB mode, changes the strapp to 1066, lowering the NB multiplier, and making the board more overclockable.

    atleast, thats the theory.

    heres some weirdness pics...

My conroe is not even recognised with this board but using an 820D shows some very wierd readings

ATM the FSB is set @ 234 x 14 with CPU-Z showing 3291MHz for the CPU with ram @ 392MHz using the 3:5 divider

Every other app shows the the CPU @ 3526MHz using the x15 multi and a bus speed of 940
lots and lots of cores and lots and lots of tuners,HTPC's boards,cases,HDD's,vga's,DDR1&2&3 etc etc all powered by Corsair PSU's

alpha received your E6600 this morning about ~30mins ago, plucked it in and boots up fine running stressprime right now.

I should have another board here early next week with the E6600 so look out for the full review

Thanks so much eva for your time testing my E6600
