nice you broke into the 24's very impressive on a AMD...

I havent benched it above 3350 so far I guess ill give that all a shot when I get home later I just have been so busy with work this week.

Why the ram only at 250 mhz seems awfully slow... would it not run stable with the CPU that high any higher?

can you take SS of these things.

Sounds like you have a good chip there, but you haven't given us anything yet :p

Use Orthos not dual SP2004, Orthos burns harder.

I validated with CPUZ #205038, but didn't take any screenies.

Having issues with the ram at the moment, need to sort it out. Get the impression there are settings missing from the BIOS that might help.... like the skew settings that are in the ASUS M2N32SLI bios for example.

Ill take screenies once I get this sorted out.

I have the Crosshair board myself, and I don't think the BIOS settings you're mentioning would be the answer. They're probably best to leave at auto - I've found that even the smallest adjustment may cause instant hangup. The high datarates leave little margin for error, and the extensive calibration of strobe timings and drive strengths is one of the advantages DDR2 has over DDR1. These settings depend on the voltage and temperature of the controller and memory, routing mismatches, memory configuration, and so on. As you can see, most of these are variable factors, which should be automatically measured and calibrated. I guess it would be extremely difficult to make manual improvements to these settings without expensive equipment and engineering skills. The calibration feature - called DQS Training - is typically performed during each initialization.

I've also found that using Clockgen to overclock the CPU and memory causes my computer to hang, even when I'm applying settings that are perfectly stable when set in the BIOS. I suspect that this instability is due to the resulting mismatch between the skew settings and the memory clock, as the calibration would be based on the clockrate set in the BIOS. That being said, a tweaker like Systool could still be of some help. It gives access to all the drive strengths and signal delay adjustments.

    Not quite worst...
I had X2 3800+ that was stable 2.425GHz @1.48V but not stable 2.5GHz@ 1.75V water cooled!!!! Luckily my next X2 3800+ clocked up to 2.8GHz with only 1.4V

So I did 4 hours of gaming last night at 3.3 ghz and it ran smooth as anything which is a good sign in my eyes. I also got it to prime at 3.35 for 5 hours and booted windows at 3.42 the highest so far but can not get it prime stable at 3.4 for anything so far.

I was able to pull a 25.8 super pi but I think I could get lower. I dont think its my memory thats limiting me but im lost on how to tweak extensively in ram settings.

The highest I have taken my v-core up to for 3.4 ghz is 1.53 --> how much higher do you think I could go on this chip with my water setup?

any how here is a few more screens before I go back to testing it...

Gonna run that other bench program now...

With that mobo and cpu @ 1.53 Vcore, he is probably running closer to 1.65.

@ demonbane23 : Did you decide not to take a DMM measurement? Sorry, not trying to harass you about this...... But this thread IS about your cpu and how far it will go at what voltages with what cooling and temps, etc. A lot of Vcore numbers are being thrown around here....lets clarify things. I can't be the only person that wants to know.

Not to mention how inaccurate anything but a quality DMM can be. My Fluke 85 is extremely accurate, but it cost $300.

Yeah I have a decent DMM but still I mean I can see the Vdimm spot clear as day for testing but not vcore...

What setting on my DMM would I use im used to only using it for car stuff mainly and I know most in comp is dc 12volt but what is it at the measure point?

I'm fairly certain I saw it in the mod section. I'll try and find it again.

Okay, here is what I found. Check the picture in post #15 of below linked thread. It shows Vcore measuring point for the M2n-sli deluxe board. I know the mods are different but from the looks of the boards the measure point may be the same. Does it look like this near the PWM stuff near the top of your board?

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...hlight=m2n-sli

Also, found this for M2N32 at VR-ZONE.

    http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=3738

Not sure if this will help. In the meantime, I'll keep looking.

My 3600+ X2 Brisbane didn't hit much more than 2.4GHz, no matter which volts I gave for it. :/
