i think with PI it doesnt make a whole lot of difference but windows 2000 is certainly better for other benches and easier to strip down.
Look at the Super Pi Tweaks thread...

Honesty, it's realy hard to tell exactly.
Many (including myself) favor Widnows Server 2003. But Windows XP SP2 seems to hold it's own too. By looking at SuperPi rankings (e.g. Holicho's 32M) most went with Server2003. I even played a bit with Server2003 64-bit, just for fun. Initial values are lower compared to 32-bit, but oddly enough final results are not
It all really comes down to tweaking and pure power of your cpu and mems, at least in WinXP vs WinServer2003 duell.
there's no big diference between winXP and win2003 server. the BIG diference i could check was between win and linux.
But normaly rankings use win OS
[I want to believe]
i am using P4 and not some 64bit CPU ( )
so win server 2003 still recommended?
