    A8N-SLI vcore mod needed!

    Hi all,

Need some help on doing a vcore mod for Asus A8N-SLI. I'll be getting this board tomorrow. I'll put FX55 and Vapochill LS on it. Most of you will know, the weak link on this board is vcore. 1.65v max. Thats surely not enough for Vapo.

Anyone could give me a hand???

Apparently, this board has OVP that you need to get rid of first if you want Vcore > 1.65.

This is just general knowledge, I don't actually know how to fix it... Since I'll have this board too soon, I'd like to know as well :'(

Of the SLI boards currently showing (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte) I'd like to pick the A8N-SLI but I also have an LS and 1.65 won't cut it . . .

Who's got one of these boards? Can you give us some close up pictures, specs on the board IC's, etc.? That would help figure this out - as for me, I'm not buying the board until I know more about the voltage controller IC's

Frankly, I don't see why this can't be done, the OVP circuit just needs to be fooled into reading a lower voltage, it's been done on other boards.

That's as high as this mod goes - it's not actually bypassing the OVP, or modifying a voltage feedback circuit - it's just changing the VID or default voltage read by the motherboard.
