Exclamation Temprite 340 oil separators for sale

I hope this is OK to post this (and no I am not the seller or know the person selling this). But there is a good deal on Ebay for 4 of these (better act quick if interested).

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Temprite-340...#ht_1539wt_880

These make great phase separators for AutoC units

Wow, a few years ago I got a box of 24 of these for that price. O.o rough market.

Was the entire box of 24 the same price of the one I posted, or am I just confused?

Anyway I already picked up 2 of these, which I considered to be a fair price (last year I paid nearly $80 for one of these through a local refrigeration supplier). BTW I didn't pay the listed price for this one on Ebay, since they are also accepting offers. Good news is that they arrived about 2 days ago (fast shipment), and do indeed appear to be brand spanking new.

As I stated earlier these are ideal for use as phase separators in AutoC's, in fact Telemark uses a larger customized version for all the phase seps in their water vapor cryopumping chillers.

They are brand new. Its old stock, manufactured 1996... Of course, you can just check the date stamp. Makes you wonder how long they've owned these.... If they've had them for 10 bloody years.........

That said, how much did you pay for yours? hehehe

I got them for $35 each + free shipping. And I kinda got a feeling that they might go for even less. But I'm quite happy with what i got them for

Yeah I got a box of 24 for $50-60 shipped.
That is amazing but I kinda doubt you'll see them for that price again. So Adam have you been putting them to good use?

I used a few in cascades, and two in my HX stack for autocascade 3 that still sits on the shelf.
I'm way to busy these days. Maybe next time I'm home I'll send them off to someone who can put em to better use.

What did you use to control oil return; out of curiosity.

Oil sep --> sight glass (to see some oil ) --> hand valve --> 2-3 ft of 1/8th inch tube or capillary line.

I'm just going to use a small port solenoid valve and pipe it to the suction line after the CPR valve. Was just curious to see how you did it.

I forgot to throw a post in here.

I bought the rest, ended up being $25 bucks each

That was about what I was spending on home made oilseps, so it was well worth it to me. I make a pretty good oilsep but this saves the time and grief of making them.

I also don't like the float controlled ones. What I'd like to see is a separate float controlled chamber. I've asked but they don't seem to exist. Something so you can have a 'real' oilsep without the issues, and a more remotely plumbed float control so that whatever it is that happens with the oilseps with them built in doesn't happen.

Wanted to say thanks for pointing it out. Up here in Canada-Land they charge idiotically high prices for them.

Gray -- I'm glad someone from these forums was able to benefit from this information. And it looks like you got quite a bargain to boot (you must have better bargaining skills than I).

If more of these turn up somewhere else in the future, this will probably be a good place to post about it (gotta bookmark this thread).

    Thank you for posting it

I tend to get a bit lucky, timing maybe. If you offer between the typical paydays, people are more likely to need the money.

Beyond that, if you're scooping up the last of whatever someone's selling and it's been a while since the last sale, they'll usually go for a lower offer if you're lucky and they're not too greedy

I figure I'd have taken the offer in their shoes, but not really much less.

I got luckly on an iPad2 for my kid in England last month too for some reason. 1 month old from some chick who wanted white instead of black (girls want matching accessories I guess) and paid 400 bucks with a bunch of accessories she decided weren't 'her'

My brother hates it, says every time he finds a bargain it's either broken or stolen.

You're right though, an 'XS phase bargain hunter' thread might be a good idea

PS. And don't pay any attention to Adam. He's just showing off

Nice score though. Paying 3 bucks apiece for oilseps means never having to make one again!

I posted a thread of deals along time ago. There were some good ones till some greedy persons scooped most of them up.

And hey, I got em and don't need em!

Where do you live these days GM?

Canada-Land, just across the border from Seattle more or less.

Canada is generally the worst for prices on Fridge stuff

So I wheel, deal, and generally get what I can from the US when possible.

Great example. I know a guy paying 150 bucks a can for 134a (30lb) in the US and here the best deal's around 285 plus tax

What about Frosty Freeze's Ebay site? I think he's in Canada too, unless I'm mistaken. I got a great deal on some gauges and other odds and ends from him over the years.
