Was just wondering if this is something we can get? With the newer version of VBulletin, it would be quite simple to integrate. I'm sure it would be used a lot here and it would give people an idea of what kind of person they are dealing with in the For Sale section!

I think that's a pretty good idea, but there should probably be some limit to how many thanks one person can give and receive in one day.
Signatures make my posts look huge... but I'm not humble enough to completely remove my signature, so I kept this note explaining it.
One site I was on had a rep system and it worked pretty well.
Another site it was abused horribly and pretty much meant nothing.

This has already been discussed at least once, the last thread about this I could find is this one.
Personally, I see no reason to add the "Thanks" button. If you stick around the forums for a while you'll quickly get to know many members of the forums and you'll be able to tell who posts valuable info - and who does not.
