    Intel C2D E6600 + P5B Deluxe OC....n00b question :(

    Hi everyone!

This is my first time trying to squeeze out the max out of my current rig.

    I'm aiming for 400x9=3600MHz OC.

    My setup:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (stock: 2.4GHz, cpu-z says stepping 6, revision B2)

    8GB (4x2GB) Kingmax PC2-6400 (400MHz) DDR2 (part KLDE88F-B8KU5)

    Asus P5B Deluxe (WiFi/AP), latest bios v1238

cooled by Scythe Ninja SCNJ-1000+120mm fan

    Corsair HX520 PSU

    GeForce 8800GTS G92 512MB GDDR3

    my current settings:

why do I need to do in order to achieve 400x9=3600?

your NB voltage needs to be adjusted accordingly. you will never reach 400FSB with "AUTO" setting. its been YEARS since ive ran skt775 so I cant remember my settings, but keep your memory speed in "CHECK" (And I remember some dividers would be stable at all, but others were ok) and t he NB gets VERY HOT so a fan blowing on the NB makes a HUGE difference. Also, keep in mind, not all boards will do 400FSB. That is actually a really good achievement and a big stress if your board is of "LOWER END".. Soooo, that brings the question, what board are u using??

Also CPU Vcore needs to be in the 1.450-1.475v range for 3.6 IIRC...... GET THAT OFF OF AUTO!!!!!

**EDIT** I see your using a p5b dlx... great board!! the same thing I used to have. I got to 460+FSB on that board
