Question Is it possible to tweak temperatures values ?

    Hello,

    I have an ASUS C90S, running windows 7 64bit, E7500, 9600M GT.
The cooling is made by 4 fans (Delta), so that should be very good.
But the fans are under control of the CPU's temperature, only.
So, if your E7500 is running rather cool, your 9600M GT may be too hot, and the fans will not spin on .

Some guys have made mods of the heatsinks, or drilling holes in the backplate, or/and using notebook coolers.
I've drilled holes and got a Zalmann cooler.

    I've now an idea :
Could it be possible to tweak the CPU's temperatures values ?
So that if you add +10°C, or 20°, or 30°C the fans will be running at high or full speed, instead of iddle.
And that is exactly what we want.

But I'm not be able to do such, I'm not a computer engineer .
So do you think it is possible to do ?
    And how to do ?
Or perhaps [dream on] someone as already make almost the same work [/dream off] ?

    Thanks alot.

why not just adjust the fan settings in bios?..........

    Thanks.
The bios is very poor about that : only CPU t°C and RPM fans.
In fact I thought to a soft which could run during windows session.
But if modding a bios is easier, why not ?

It's not possible to alter the physical sensor readings without a hardware mod. And since BIOS controls the fan speeds and the operating system has no control over BIOS, there is no way to write any software for it.

One option could be a BIOS mod, but then again, I think it would be easier to do a hardware mod.

But hey, the best option would be to buy quieter fans..

A bios mod should be nice, yes.
Fans are much too quiet, almost silent.
Actually fans are only under control of CPU's t°c, so if cpu is at idle _ about 50 °C _ fans are also at idle. Even if GPU's t°C increases.
That should be better to lock fans to GPU instead of CPU.

When I got my C90S, it came with a E6600 and 8600GT. Everything was working rather well.
Then I've updated to a E7500 and a 9600GT, and E7500 is much cool than E6600. So that fan will not spin on, and 9600GT has no more airflow.

ASUS gives no more support for C90S, that's why I'm searching how to do.

I don't think it's possible to tweak the CPU's temperatures values, you should exchange it with a new one.

    Thanks.
Now, I'm considering how to improve the cooling oh my notebook. Perhaps with exchange heatsinks by those of C90P + mods ...
