GeForce GTX 480 SLI - Game + Vantage quick test

Not even High-End setup, only Core i7@ 4,06GHz + 6GB RAM, results with high clocked Gulftown later ...

Little AIR Ocing 770 MHz on GPU ...

Game tests, percents number are: 56% are for perf bump of SLI against single GTX 480, -15% is performance of CF HD 5870 relative to GTX 480 SLI

SLI scaling in new games and tests ...

    I don't get it, Fallout 3 91/81 = 112,3456, but 87/81=95,604?
    I messed up?

sorry maybe i'm dumb or not awake enough but i don't get the crossfire numbers, if GTX 480 is 100, how 5870 cf can have a lower rating ? or is that compared to 480 sli as 100% ?
    it's not very clear
    Core i7 2700k@4,8ghz HT off- 1.41v / Gainward GTX580 GooD 850/1700/2200 / 2X4Gb G.Skill Ares 1833C9 / Z77 Sabertooth / Crucial M4 64 Gb / WD 320Gb and 640GB / Corsair H80 / Corsair 620 HX

    Nice setup.

Power consumption during OC would be interesting.

Vantage absolutely hates Fermi. Don't plan on it for any new world records... driver update maybe?

Thats not a bad score for no phyx enabled and 2 cards. Also the cpu could be clocked higher.

95,604 (95.604 for us Yanks) is referring to the relative performance between the 5870 CFX vs GTX 480 SLI.

Dunno what the 2nd column where the non-SLI GTX 480 is a constant 100 is supposed to represent other than to show you how performance increase you have from a single GTX to SLI GTX because we already have the > 100,00 (100.00) numbers represented so no need to devote an entire column of 100s.

That is not what the table implies though.
By saying that Single 480 is 100 it implies that the comparisons are made against this as a percentage.

I'm only clarifying the mathematical calculation, nothing more, nothing less.

Calculations are right...the problem is that the 5870CF is being compared to GTX480 SLI, not against GTX480...

I like how the cards actually could last through the test.

    Temps, power consumption?

Thx Obermaier. Nice bench. @GURU - table reads like this:

    game - 5870CF - gtx480 - 480sli - game - 5870cf relative to 480sli - 480 - % increase from 2nd 480

    ... kinda confusing but discernible

In the % chart you need to reorder the numbers, it's pretty confusing.

    Something like:

CF vs SLI relative performance in %
    game *** | **% - 100%

    That should be more clarifying.
