<10C Delta, am I thinking this through correctly?

    Hello All,
I am looking for 1 more radiator to add to the roof of my build, currently I have 2xmcr-220's. After reading a few reviews and what not I need some help with my line of thinking. 10C delta would be the difference between the water temps in the loop and the room temp correct? So if I have the ability to keep my room at 18.3C (usually around) or lower my hardware temps should never reach above 28.3C? So my i7 shouldn't reach above 83F?

So I am thinking that I am using a 1000w power supply, and I have 2x220mcr's and will also have one 3x120 rad in the roof (thinking GTX360 or PA120.3) and running fans around 1850rpm (thinking of the Gentle Typhoons). So looking at skinnee's website a MCR-320 will dissipate 578w @ 10C delta (1850rpm) and a GTX will do about 716w. So at 1000w max output of the power supply my delta should be between 7 - 10C?

Thanks for helping me out if I am wrong.

    Thanks,
    Eddie

No it doesn't work that way.
The heat from the processor has to travel IHS -> thermalpaste -> waterblock -> water.

But from what I've understand, it's more or less 1:1 relationship between change in water temp and core temperature. So if you lower you water temp with 1C, you'll also lower the core temp with 1C.
So if you are at 10C delta with tripe rad and have 60C at the core, doubling the rad (decreasing to 5C delta) would lower your processor temp to 55C.
I could be way off though.

The Delta T is the air vs water temp under idle or load, load is what matters most. Zehnsuch is right, Your processor still has to dissipate the heat, and it's not 100% efficient into the CPU block by a long shot. But the lower your water temps, or air temps, the lower the processor temps.
All stock for now, no need for more, but it's gonna be soon methinks.

    There are many different deltaT's...

    air/water
    air/cpu
    water/cpu
    case air/ambient air
    etc etc etc

A good rule of thumb is to keep water/air deltas to 5C or less at full load. If you can do that and you use modern proven blocks and pumps, you will be good to go.

As scott says u need to look at a couple of deltas.

    1. The delta from water temp to air temp. (u listed it at top).
This sets a defined floor level of coolant temps.

    2. The delta of water to component. This is different on all machines, because no two hardware will ever put out the same identical heat.
(the only time water temp = component temp will be when the machine is off putting 0 heat.)

You need to factor this part yourself. But this is the second delta.

    So overall...

Ambient Air temps -> Water Temps -> Components

So 2 delta's u need to be sure of.

Making much more sense to me now, I had some of this in my head but seeing it explained by someone sorted out my thoughts a lot better.

Hmm, fwiw, I've got an 8800gt and a e8400 @ 4ghz (1.36v) with a bip1 and coolrad22t, and am seeing around 29'c going into the rad, and 33'c coming out. Being cooled with slow yates at 12v. Core temps around 43'c idle and 68'c load. lol.

air temp going into rad = 26C
water temp (taken from res) = 27C
    cpu temp idle = 28-30C
