so, uh yea....
total points is everything you accumulated since you started.
RAC (Recent Average Credit) is basically PPD (Points per day), so it's just your 24hr average over a specific time period. it gives you an idea of who's actively producing right now.

total points is what you've contributed over the lifetime of your account whereas RAC is (i think) an average daily contribution. So a high RAC is a great indicator of how people are doing RIGHT NOW vs. life time.
Needless to say, we like big RACs around here
