Doubt about Single\Double Sided Memory.

Hey all

I have 2x 1gb Samsung Dimms DDR2 800 DUAL SIDED on my pc, recently i bought 2x 1gb Samsung Dimms DDR2 800 SINGLE SIDED (the store sent single sided) when i use the 4x Dimms my computer freezes when i run a game or when i move files (probably everytime i use memory:P) i took the dual sided and the single worked great i took the single and the dual worked great.

So my question is, Is there such a big difference between Single and Dual sided memory ? or is just my ASUS P5n32-E SLI Motherboard that is picky and wants them all equal?

If you anyone can help me i appreciate it...

are the ones you bought ECC?

Whats ECC ? and how can i find out if it is?

EDIT: im almost 100% sure they are not.

use cpu-z to see if memory is ecc capable. always try to match sets of ram when using them on the same board.

Its not ECC capable the only difference its 2x are single sided 2x are double sided

that is a major difference... like i said use identical sticks if you want no problems. anytime you mix memory you will have issues, some may be minor some not so minor.
if both kits are the same size ie: 2gb then the single sided sticks will use chips with twice the density of the dual sided sticks.
