Super Talent DDR3 2.133MHz this year

    Adapted from THX: http://www.thehardwaresxtreme.com/fo...read.php?t=554

Putting more pressure to the battle of manufacturers of memory in recently introduced standard DDR3, Super Talent finishes to announce a new line of fast modules extreme e with latencies less surprising than the existing products.

Recently, OCZ demonstrated its PC3-14400 Platinum Edition to the public, and Team Group finishes to launch its combs DDR3-1600MHz 7-7-7-24 in U.S.A. It seems that the competitiveness ja is great for a still so restricted market, in the case for enthusiastic users of the platform Salt Creek; “Core 2 + Bearlake”. Projected on the basis of its majority in Chips Micron Z9, Super Talent keeps to some surprises for this year, as for example DDR3-1.866MHz modules 1.9V in two versions, of “low latency” 8-8-8-24 1.9V for a price suggested of U$625, DDR3-1866MHz CL10 for U$500 and one waited model that 2.133MHz with latencies operates 9-9-9-X and price not defined. All exhaustingly are tested of plant in plate-mother Asustek 's P5K3 Deluxe.

I'm really pleased and impressed by the speed with which DDR3 is evolving. Now if prices would just nose down a bit...

so where exactly would one say ddr2 topped out around and where will ddr3 top out around?

Well DDR2 started out at PC2-4200 as the standard and I'd say is currently going into PC2-8500. So assuming DDR3 follows the same trend and assuming it starts off as PC3-8500 as the standard, we'll be at PC3-17202 before DDR4 comes out.

    DDR1 topped at around 600mhz, DDR2 around 1500mhz...

    I'll guess at around 3-3.5Ghz...

I yearn for the day where we can run the RAM and CPU @ 1-1 again(on a fast bus of course...)

    or atleast 1:2

    I still think realistically:

    DDR1: 250-300 cas 2.5-3
    DDR2: 500-600 cas 4-5
    DDR3: 1000-1200 cas 7-8

sounds rather fair. I wonder if that kit will run 2000 at cas 7-8. If so, DDR3 is getting good rather fast

At this rate it'll only be two years before I can afford it.
    That is all.

    Peace and love.

I love how they promised lower power consumption but voltages ended up getting raised to near 2.0v anyway. I guess I'm in the minority, caring about that though.

I care about that's why I'm going to wait at least a year before getting ddr3.

I feel stupid to ask this but iv been out of the loop lately. Will DDR3 chips work on a ddr2 board or do we need new motherboards?

who cares about speed in the sense that you can under clock these DDR3 modules to have low CL with lower speeds.

For most games right now that would be killer to have CAS 2 for example at 667mhz or CAS 3 at 800mhz.... or am I just rambling on with nonsense

good luck with getting a CPU stable at 533MHz FSB particularly from newer intel batches

they all need to work on DDR2000 with killer latencies

Or open up more memory dividers on DDR3 boards if they exist heh

well that HAS to happen now considering the limitation it provides for most people

i am surprised they don't have that currently

i'm sure nvidia will have that covered when they eventually make a DDR3 board

Could somebody interpret that interpretation and let me know what the hell that means?

It sounds to me like they love OCZ!
