He goes buy the name of keepaf1, lives in the north island here in NZ. And from seeing all the pics and stats, he's stoked And so am I.
I'm pretty sure he's a member here at Xs from a while back, unrelated to the phase section. I will get him to post, and definatly bump this thread when it arrives and is benching.

Originally we were going to put this cooler on his FX60 and two 7900gtx cards, but now he has saved a bit more money and is selling off that system to be replaced with a x6800 conroe, two 8800gtx's, DDR2 8500 and hopefully a 680i motherboard. And i waterblock for the NB would be a dam good idea too.

    hi ya all!.
i am the lucky recipient of this kickass chiller unit custom built by my good friend {.bLanK GoD}.
as he said - i was going to use this on a x6800 conroe with 2 x 8800gtx's but i have been looking at the new Quad core.
i still havent decided yet but i will be posting here no matter what i go with.
like they say - go hard or go home - heheh.
this will be my last upgrade for a couple of years so i goota make the most of it.especially with this chiller.he has gone to great lengths to build this unit so i can fit it with everything into a single custom built case.
the name of this case will be "Dark Angel".i will be ajusting the specs of the case when the chiller arrives - have already changed a few measurements to make things fit - lol.
will post updates as i work things out.
major cudo's to {.bLanK GoD} for building this awesome unit

Im just curious why u went for an open tank filled with ur liquid with the evap placed in it instead of a pipe within a pipe design?

I did a chiller with a pipe in pipe within a pipe design yes 3 pipes 3/8 in 1/2 in 7/8 (Duel compressor system) and on the smallest compressor which is a 1/5hp i managed -20c with 290 at around 10psi i think and with the 1/3hp compressor i managed -25c at about 5psi and even colder with both compressors running.(Its been a while since i messed with it so my numbers may not be exactly right).

I have a thread here on XS if anyone is interested in seeing it.

The main reason I went for a large tank is that originally this chiller was going to chill an FX60, so i was assuming the worst that it would cold bug. With a large tank i could easily attach a t/stat to keep the coolant just above the point of cold bug and cycle the compressor on and off without temps rising dramaticly. Now were chillin an intel we don't have to worry about it. Also if he ever wanted to run this thing 24/7 at a mild overclock, we can go back to the t/stat and just keep the coolant at a mild chill, when it;s time for benching or gaming we just bridge the t/stat with a switch to over ride it and run flat out.

I looked at your pipe in pipe in pipe HX, nice job, but it takes up more square area than my insulated 8 litre res does.

Yea i didn't have compact in mind when i threw this chiller together lol. If i redid it i could make it as small as the chiller u made maybe even a bit smaller who knows. But for benching with a chiller i think my design would provide colder temps and better capacity.

Only one way to find out.
I pepsi challange you to throw a 520w heat load on that thing then and see what she'll do.
You have more combined Hp than me so you have a head start already.

All Boxed up and ready to go.
Sorted out getting it frieghted and insured, will slap a few fragile stickers on it before it goes on the truck. Cross your fingers and pray to the frieght gods that transit goes smoothly.
As joe bloggs, most frieght companys will not insure your freight for a cash sale.
To frieght it (as joe bloggs) through one of the major national companys and to insure it through my own insurance broker was going to cost around $250nzd. But it the end scored a sweet deal with one of our suppliers to frieght it for me. Because they have an account and frieght stuff regulary, through them it will cost not quite $80
She wieghs in at around 45kg gross.

Thank you for all you compliments people, we will all be waiting with antisipation to see how she goes under quad & sli.

nahhhh i don't have the patience to rework the chiller for a load like that. Maybe someday but not anytime soon.

I'd like to see some hardware pics when the end user gets this chiller set up and running.
