I have tricked the subzero BUG :-)

    Hi Guys,

Yesterday i have buy my new System.
    MSI K8N (nforce3) and a 3200+ Winchester! RAM i have OCZ 3200 EL Rev.2 2x512 ...

For the first i have the same Problems like you. Vapo cools down at 0 the MB Diode shows 255 and the System freeze!

I have tried many BIOS and tricks and i have found a trick to boot the System without Problems!

    Also:

Dont start the Mobo and Vapo at the same time!
Start the Vapo first and let cool down the Temp how much you will .
Then make an CMOS Clear to the BIOS and start the Mobo!
Now dont go into the BIOS let start Windows!

When you go into the BIOS or you make a restart the Mobo dont will start again. You must al make now the CMOS Clear trick!

But for the first its not bad! Now we must find a way you can change your Settings without Problems!

I noticed then when you make this trick the Temp Diode allways rest at 40!

I think all the Problems was with the Diode! Can somebody make a BIOS with a option to disabled this Temp Diode?

    Greetz Mrki
    Sorry for my bad english!

    i have a quick question...

do you have to physically perform CMOS Clear with a jumper or...
...maybe everytime you start your system just hold Ins key which also boots the system with default settings??? can you try that?

yes i know i asked onepagebook what he maked but with his hardware (nov. board and 3500+) it workoed with all BIOS and without Problems!

perhaps his temp diode is different or something like!

the trick what the clear cmos makes is he makes tmep diode always rest at 40! and this is the trick!

    disabled **** temp diode

    neo2 board

i've had 2 neo's, one old and one November board. currently i'm on air cooling and i noticed the diode on the november board is now reading -30 whereas with the same setup on the old board, i was getting a reading of +30. perhaps 1page has a board like mine which allows him to boot up with winnies without a problem. i have a vapo sitting on my floor waiting to be installed this weekend, i'll try out the winnie after i play with the fx55.

btw, i posted about this topic 2 days ago in another thread:

    But how does it overclock?

    The temp problem I had w/ winny occured already w/ +5C water. Max OC w/ +5C water = 2830MHz, Max OC w/ +15C water = 2860MHz.

If the temp is solid 40C then you wont have a problem with oc'ing it right?

im not sure i understand?? if you clear your c-mos before you boot then all your settings are lost and you have to go into your bios sooner or later to correct these settings. so my question is how do you change your settings?

    thx perc,

    thx perc,

    thats the problem!

After change something in BIOS you cant boot! Black Screen!

You can only with default Settings boot Win! Because the Diode only with default Settings fix at 40!

Don't tell me you guys didn't know about this. When I reported the issue with cold boot, I mentioned multiple times you will get your first boot with cmos clear. (Case with 3 diff mobo I tried).
I don't even know if bios mod is good enough on certain cases. I wonder if someone has idea about hard mod to disable some feed back mechanism to cpu, etc.
