    Question Pre Release Parts - How!?

    I think I'm losing it!
    How do you guys get your pre release parts?! Is it connections? Lots of money? Or just lurking on ebay!?
    People are getting "Woodcrest" and other parts like it's a product on your neighborhood shop!!!
    Cause of you guys I can't sleep at night!

    You need connections

    Look for distributors and maybe you can find one willing to sell you some stuff (note: this can be illegal). Don't you know someone that happens to work for Dell, Compaq, HP, etc?

    As long as you do it in a positive and constructive way, then it's ok.

    You're serious? They were released in Massachusetts? And someone spent 40 Grand on them?

    How were they released in Mass. anyways?

    And I have 100+ posts and can't access the E6700 link either. Plus, I can't post in the ones I CAN access. Those 2 E6300s were a d*mn good deal at $220 ea.

    I think he means mass as "large numbers" rather than the state.

    thanks. yes in mass. as in large numbers. kentsfield samples have been shipping since febuary to engineers. if you had a freind at a major manufacture you could probably get ahold of one as well.

    Kentsfield since February? Whoa. I've gotta start some hardware review site to get connections, but never have enough time or motivation.

    So basically -- You need to know someone that works at a company that gets these processors shipped to them.

    Or, like Alexio said, you need to get in touch with one of the distributors/resellers?

    A guy on the Guru3D Forums had this to say;

    No they're not that hard to get a hold of. I cannot say where I got mine from (my seller asked me not give out the info because he didn't want to be flooded with requests for one) but you can find them.....
