Pretty good 144 CABNE on Air

This was one of the first Vandi specials but I went thru a few bad mb's before I could really tet it. So far on a TT BT this is my best 1m time. Ram needs to be tweaked or put back in 4000vx. I wish more dividers worked.

Here is my 144 CABYE 0536 GPMW with my good old Infineon 6A

I know the vcore isnt the best but i have only an arctic cooling freezer 64. With a better cooler i could clock higher.

And here is the Limit i reached.

    Never tried 32m or prime 95 at 2.7G 1.4. Here's something I tried on a bad mb:

Amazing chip... I think phase change users would run out of FSB before they'd run out of CPU!

Can ya test it with prime? I'm interested in how my chip stacks up as a 24/7 chip against a top notch "N" (I've got a "G").

I don't like prime or do it that much but just for you I did as much as I can stand. I just used the MHz as in the OCCT test in the previous post and bumped the Vcore a little. I was not going to try and find top Mhz with prime. If you would have wanted top 32m, I would have put some effort into it, sorry. I do think it will prime higher with more effort. Here's a little something to compare with.

Indeed, low multiplier is a big disadvantage. Had this problem when tested my 3000 under DI. If someone would find a way to unlock multi but that is very unlikely and I am dreaming probably

Maybe not on the new DFI board dogsx2 is currently using. I think he flashed a 370+HTT to me on another thread. I'm thinking at 380 he would start to run into the 32M stable limit of the CPU. Can someone send him a strong single stage so we can find out?

I'll go easy on it, pm me for shipping instructions. Can do 402HTT on new mb.

The good cpu's are all going to be in that 3400+- range no matter what the X factor I think. Tweaking sure plays a huge part in max MHz.

I would like to see you with the same mb and memory try all three of you optys and see how much the X factor makes.

Nice CPU u got there dogsx2.
I was 2 weeks too late and could only grab a cabye. I never overclocked a A64 cpu, so I have a few questions:
Are there any disadvantages using memory dividers?
How does a new A64 Cpu look like? Id the ihs all nice and shiney or does it look used? I somehow have the feeling that my opteron was running before, although its a boxed version :/ I hope it has only been tested by AMD and not from the shop I orderd it from. Otherwise I guess it wont oc that good ;(

Are there huge differences in max htt boards can handle? Or is the cpu maxed out before the board does?

Use any divider that works, there is no disadvantage. Was your box still sealed? If the box was sealed then I'd say it was not used. Yes, there are big differences in mb's. My rma'ed DFI would max out at about 342. This one I'm on now does 402 HTT.

I hope your oc goes well.

    Thanks Major

I bought some ram from Major and thought I'd try it out. He said it would run 260@3.5v and he was right. Did manage to get a little more out of it. This is the best cpu I've ever owned.
