Well, everybody reports bad things and how mad they are, but hardly anybody starts a thread with "THIS BOARD RAWKS"...thus putting a negative spin on ALL DFI boards (more of a spin then there should be, at least).

Okay...I see your point, and its obviously well intentioned. We just need to recognize that unhappy folks post on threads like this more than the satisfied ones and that the results can be skewed.

I meant no offense from any of my posts.

LOL...Over the years I've lost more hardware than I want to admit. Last February I lost 2 EN6800Ultra TOP cards and the Asus A8N-SLI they were running on in one session. That was $1600 in hardware gone.

I've also lost other CPUs, mobos and vid cards over the years to the overclocking gods. Again, more than I want to admit.

BUT, I never blamed the hardware. Its just the risk of the hobby.

As far as DFI is concerned, I've been though 2 Ultras, 2 SLI-DRs, and 2 Experts. I still have one SLI-DR and one Expert humming away right now. 6 mobos doesn't make a statistical sample, but I must say, they all ran (still run) trouble free. Maybe I am indeed just lucky Funny thing is...folks used to say the same thing about me and Abit mobos when they were the tweaker board of choice. Now its just DFI. Same story different brand.

This is a great offer Pedro. I wish the folks at DFI would take the time to look at the hardware. Some firm conclusions would either put minds at rest, or allow adjustments to be made.

Hehehe - It's quite ironic that my Expert runs flawlessly with my first attempt @ this board; I had gone through 10 DFI Ultra-D/Sli-D/Sli-Dr's before this one

from looking at your sig, you're running the 704-2BT bios? that's a previous NF4 board bios. i thought the Expert used a different BIOS...

EDIT: btw, for anybody interested, ~77% of good boards.

Have been running an Opteron 146 and able to match the same OC as woth the older SLi-DR MB.... some unusual matters with dividers but it loves BH modules and not to happy to have TCCD in the slots.

BIOS 11-25 when flashed has some corruption in the description fields (de.bin) so using 11-17 OK.

Is there any more info available on this?

E.g., what were the attempted Volts on these runs?

Well, my RDX200 CF-DR has ran days of D2OL, prime and playing all the newest games, while overclocked. The trick of disabling support in the bios for USB mouse solved the problem of lockups and refusal of booting up properly.
Never had a problem since. It is also my first ever AMD based system and naturally my first DFI, and my modest results may be viewed here; http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=80010

you have to take into account that those with failed have been very dedicated and voted on all 3 top options. So looks a bit more like at least 90 % chance if not more you won´t get such issues .

I voted in the poll last week that I didn't have any issues at all. Scratch that vote. I had to rma the board back to DFI (Monarch sucks) yesterday. Come to find out, the system would crash whenever I tried any 3d application, ie games, 3d mark 2001, 2003, 2005. Everything was at stock, never oc'd. Tried swapping all components between my two rigs, psu, cpu, ram video cards, hd's and cables. The only thing that fixed it was to put my SLI-DR back in.
The board was faulty. Suppose I'm lucky, though, that it didn't take anything with it.

Nothing's dead here... just RMA one RDX200 cause it was unstable even stock clocks. This one is bit better... just a bit though Can't get more than 225 stable (and yes it's mobo... everything else has been tested different modos).

well the first week i ran my expert series it ran flawlessly i pulled it out to try out the asus 32-sli board and when i poped the expert back in i encountered the problem of not being able to change my v-core and when i did change it the system would just go blk causing me to have to clear the c-mos to recover. not sure what that was all about but for now im running my ultra-d til some new bioses come (wich i see one was just released to help with the death syndrome) that i can try and see if the problem goes away or not...

also this rdx board does it have the HD sound or the same crappy sound that comes on the other DFI boards???

    thx perc,
