I just wanted to clarify that OPB's cpu is a RETAIL cpu bought from an online store. No handpicking was involved and that particular stepping is available to every "average joe". If you ever have a chance to talk to OPB personally, you'll know why his benches are so outrageous - his knowledge about memory and their timings is unparalleled by anyone I have ever spoke to......this is just my so mods - edit away

Well if not 2.0 then 2.5. It would be intersting to see if these chips can atleast run CAS2 at atleast DDR400.

i got these ram sticks, they are great but they do not run 3-3-3-8 at 250mhz, ive got mine at 264mhz at 3-4-4-8-1T...and the other timings are the same as the g.s. technicians...great ram but timings are a little loose if you ask me, wish they could atleast do 3-3-3-8

    Hallo,

    @ G.S Technician

I've tried serveral Bios but i am not able to get this RAM stable @270Mhz @ 3-4-4-8. 32M always stops after the first iteration. For 260Mhz i need active cooling @2,55V. Otherwise Memtest won't pass. Is this normal?

Could you post your Bios Settings, please and tell me which Bios is best for this ram? thx

    Edit:
Even with 260Mhz i've got problems with 32M. Around Loop 20. Memtest shows no errors. Day of Defeat Source crashes after 15min.

sorry for the late reply, just arrive to office
if you can run 32M to 20 loops then it has error, i believe most the time is on CPU.
do you have any other CPU can test. cuz to me if there is no error on windows memtest 800%, 90% of the time that problem is not cause by RAM.

On the DFI mobo using the 704-2BTA bios.. I used 2.6V to the ram and was able to max out at 280x9 LDT3 with ram set to 1/01 3-4-8-4. Booted into Windows and ran SuperPi without errors. Also ran Aquamark3 and scored 76,591.. as soon as I bumped it up to 285 it puked. I tried a divider but no joy, it did not work. Upping the V up to 2.7 did not work either. Any suggestions and I will see what else I can squeeze out of it. I did try the previous series of the bios from DFI and I hit the wall at 250 with the same exact settings. I don't have the ram settings as they are at home but I can get some numbers if you all would find them useful. I am going to go back to the 704-2BTA bios as it seems I can push it better with that one.

    Hallo,

My current setting you see runs rock stable. But i wanna get 9*289 @RAM/FSB 9/10 =260Mhz @3-4-4-8. I also tried 9*260 1:1, but no way
My CPU runs 20hours of Prime (In-place large FFTs & Blend) stable @289*9=2600Mhz RAM / FSB async. I do not have an option to test with an other CPU. (Maybe in 2-3 weeks i can test @ my brothers rig. DFI nf4 feat. 3500+ Winnie)

    Tried: 510-1/510-1fix / 310P / 623-3/ 702-1

LDT was always set to 3.

    thx

Edit: Set Multi to 6. But 6*260

    Tried 704-3

    Can't find the 703-3 Bios

This may give you an idea.. if anyone can take a gander at them and offer suggestions I am up for it.

    CPU VID Startup 1.45V | CPU VID Control 1.45V | CPU VID Special 104% | LDT V 1.4 | Chipset V 1.7 | DRAM V 2.8 | CPU Multi is 9x | LDT Multi is 4x | FSB 280

Anything below 3X multi will not boot and I cannot go above that FSB.. different timings maybe?? not even with the 9/10 divider.. maybe a different divider will work better?? New to this so not sure where I can go next.

    CPU Z verified

Awesome. It works. Two times of 32m without any problem But i still need active cooling @2,6V.

Lets see what Memtest will say over night.

@demonR6 Nice Rig How did you set the Drive Strength? I set it to weak3 and 1.

I will check when I get home. My settings for ram are all set to auto except for the 1/01 e-3-4-8-4.. I need to update my A64 tweaker while I am at it. Glad to hear things are going better now!

I dunno dude.. in hindsight the DFI board is really quirky and a pain in the rear to set up properly. It just has so many things about it that may or may not play nice that maybe the board you have is a good idea. This driver won't work, that bios won't work use this one but those nForce drivers don't work well with that bios.. and be sure to not use the IDE drivers if you have that bios but yada yada.. come to think of it.. the DFI is a pain in the ass.
