Is FX-57 any more different from FX-55 SD except for higher clock? I mean, is the cold bug goign to be gone?

The 4600+ is stock 2.4GHz right? Either way that's a damn nice CPU, soon as games start coming out multithreaded I'll be picking up a Toledo myself.

Any chance of seeing some benchies from this?

Didn't he say he got the new FX via RMA for another FX? If so I doubt they would send a 57 for a 55.

They sent him 18 other fine processors....something tells me he knows a person or two in AMD (or he IS the person to know in AMD!).

    Maybe it's a SD 55 or a handpicked one...

Doesn't matter if its a FX-55 or 57, anyway its a special CPU! And we like that!

    Hey guys,
I would have posted sooner, but I've been having problems setting up a couple of new Hitachi SataII 250gb drives in Raid 0 with Server, but I think I finally figured it out. I feel that I should have shown some screenshots of my OC adventure with this cpu so you guys can see what it can do @ different speeds so here we go:
    The CPU:

    Here's he 4600 @ default speeds:

Here's the cpu with a few of his close friends (all dual core):

Interesting to see that 512k stuff is getting 1.30V only whereas 1M X2's are labeled 1.35V.

I'll hope this 1.30/1.35/1.40V branding will appear in retail, too. Since there is no other way to tell about stock voltage with "AA" multiple VID.

why is the mips so low...

dual core P4's act like dual CPU's and the mips reflect that.
so why not the A64 too?

Oh, that's because I took the screenshot on my first boot. Windows hadn't recognized the second core yet

Here's a couple attempts at running with the default multiplier and my gskill FF's @ cl2. This was really no fun at all since I had never ran these sticks @ cas2 so I basically was learning the timings on them while trying to OC.

so lovely... just noticed smartguardian says 12.41v on 12v rail

How high you set your psu's 12V rail via multi-meter? as on my DFI NF4 SLI-D, 12.09v in smartguardian is already 12.35-12.41v via multi-meter! You running 12.6-12.8v ?

    what psu ya using ?

After a couple of hours of frustration trying to run cas2 @ 225+FSB, I said screw it and dropped the multiple down to 10 and ran these sticks w/timings I'm familiar with:
