New Venice power - almost 3Ghz!

Well got my new Venice yesterday together with 2x512mb G.Skill LE 440. Just fooled around a little to detemine max oc into winXP - i reached 330fsb = 3003Ghz but off-course i got a reboot just as i was to save the screenie
But here´s a shot at 2976Mhz: http://www.upitfree.dk/upload/files/2976mhz_330fsb.JPG with 330fsb.That´s with 1.425vcore + 126% reads 1.72vcore in smartguardian. I think that´s pretty good with a mediocore cooler as my zalman 7700AlCu Using Oskar Wu bios 414-1 (dont know if theres a better bios out there?)

Now what would it take to get it stable around the 3gigs? Obviously better cooling but i´m already on to that (some watercooling stuff).

What would give me best performance - running around 310fsb 1:1 with my ram or running 320-330fsb with divider?

    Sweet!

PM me with your email, I'll send you the translation if you still want it. The forums aren't going to be up for another week. SHG got the Ultra-D in stock I just saw

My RMA'd Venice is coming from M-E.dk today. Love that service. My 0517 clocked as well as a horses ass, and they let me RMA it

    Sick, good CPU.

I love www.m-e.dk btw. I sent in my terrible Venice 0517, which I used for 2 days (240*10 at stock was max), and it was changed within a day. You have to love "14 dags fortrydelsesret". The change cost me shipping, but m-e apparently don't mind too much. For the extra few kr. you get the service you want. SHG told me they are too busy to check steppings

Now getting the 3ghz stable will be your challenge (ramp up the volts.... )

yeah i got the same impressions on m-e.dk - i wrote them a mail if i could come and check out the steppings - they wrote back that if i showed up in person i could handpick the stepping of my choice. Fortunately i had my luck with this stepping from shg.dk so i´m pretty satisfied as of now.

What´s the max safe vcore on air?

Wow, they let you buy a CPU, check out well it OCs and then if you find out it's pants they let you exchange it?

...and you don't even have to make up some crappy story like it's broke, or BSODs on defaults etc?

If so then I wish there were stores like that here in the UK

Oh dear admins, allow this one single slight OT

In Denmark we have this thing called "14 days regret-right", when translated directly. This entitles you to "regret" any online purchase within 14 days of your physically receiving the product - the packaging must be in a "reasonably similair state". The contact at the shop was more than friendly, which of course helps them build a reputation My reason for exchanging it was that "it does not perform as expected".

    Quite tacky really
