hehe, i guess this thread is getting a bit too long to read, but the max suicide is definitly in the first post

max 1m stable was somewhere around 2950mhz.. was just trying to find a screen of it in this thread, but couldn't, so here it is:
    ambient was around 14-15c

    yes it is.

hey ozzi, i was wondering how your running your setup now. im clocked at 2806mhz; a 12x multi; 1.47v; 25c idle; 1:1 mem at 233mhz 2-3-2-8 and 3.05v. i was just wondering how my upmw compares to your dpmw. i think my limiting factor is my ram, i might try to save up for 1 gig matched sticks of tccd or tcc5 ram in the future. overall, im still happy with the performance of this little chip. thnx

quick question, what exactly is the HTL in central brain identifier?

i normally run 229x12 for 2.75ghz with 1.45v that undervolts to 1.42-1.43v (max stable with 1.45v is 2765, but i like to have a wee bit of headroom just in case )
    ram is 1:1 at 2.5-2-2-10

    and HTL = hyperstransport link

seems like our chips are pretty similar

Just got my Newark 3700+ in from ComputerBrain.com, sitting here at stock speeds atm, lol kind of nervous after mounting up the XP-90C, but it's ok.

Mine is stepping CABSE 0515UPMW, anyone know if they are good/bad? I guess we will see...

    I really hope it's good

*EDIT* Btw it's running pretty cool so far. Ran a SuperPi 1MB at stock 2400mhz 1.35v, fan speed on lowest setting, and temps reached 28C Though A/C is on in my room ATM.

same as mine!!!!...so far, im gettin pretty much the same results as ozzi. only thing is that im at 1.475v right now. im tryin to burn the chip in and see if i can relax my volts a bit more with equal timings. g/l and post up what you end up with. im still in the process of finding a happy medium with my upmw.

thnx for the info ozzi. im using your example as a barrier for my chip.

im hatin this setup ovberall over again, other day after folding for hours on end i come back to pc and its ruhnning sluggish as usual, i restart, and when come to windows same thing. Check some things and see its only showing one 512, wierd shut down and open her up, and I dont get it its in socket and all so i pull it and reseat it and no post, was at 2880 on 4-15 in dimms 1 and 3 now i cant get it to go past nf3ut screen at begining of post it hangs there, right now im on 5-04 200htt with 166 multi just to get into windows to post these problems, i cant get 200 1:1 stable on 5-04 but in 4-15 i was up to 232 at one point 1:1 1.5-2-2-5-2-10-12 etc.
now after folding all night come back and dim isntshowing, now i can pout in 1 and 2 slot on 4-15 and itll post but cant get 200 stable on 5-04 i can do 1-2 slot and 1-3 slot but no 200 stable, only thing i had b4 was 1-3slot on 4-15 bios 232 stable, now it locks at bios start screen, i have already flashed biossavior many times to both bios's is it bad mobo? Either dimm will do 130 solo in slot one so whats the deal here?

from what i have gathered so far, newark no like dividers. as far as bios, i have the 5/4 bios running, and it seems ok so far. i dumbed the chip down today to 2.7ghz:running at x12 multi with 1.45v pretty stable. i also set my ram back to its original settings of 2326 with 2.9v. i pushed the ram as high as 3.1v and 2.5-3-2-10 and some other combos. it all pretty much led to the same end result of 2.7ghz. i figured to drop the volts and just leave it as it is for now. i cant seem to get any more than 225mhz out of my ram. it just wont pass prime no way, no how. i figure im just gonna keep these settings till i can get my hands on some better ram in the future. as far as bios settings, i just tried and did what ozzi has done so far. load optimized defaults, save and exit. reenter and up the volts to whatever tickles your fancy i guess. ive only gone as far as 1.55, but since i didnt see any better results anyway, i dropped it back down. anyone think that 1 gig of dual channel ecc pc4000 ram will yield better results?? in cbid it says that it supports ecc ram. give it shot??? i mean, im building my first dually anyway. if it dont work, i can just pop it into there.

ECC ram won't work in these setups (at least I'm pretty sure it won't)

I'm pretty confident that this statement would be more dependent on what type of memory is being used. I am able to run memory dividers down to 100/200 (100MHz) with my 3700+ and OCZ PC-3200 VX without issue.

im guessin this mobo has taken a dump on me, ima call the egg tomorrow and see what can be done about it, right now i took the bh-5 out and put in a spare gig of ch-5 and same results, so i know its not the ram. maybe thats why i have been having all these prblems all this time with this setup, we shall see, sucks to have to wait for rma of mobo but atleast i have 2 spare beasts to use in the meantime

Little update on my 3400. Prime95 is still the only thing I have problems with. This chip is everything-but-Prime stable at 2805 1.61v. I've always used P95 to determine stability before, but since others report having problems passing Prime I've been using other methods. It folds without errors, benches without problems, hasn't crashed on me once at present speeds. There seems to be a lot of debate about Prime95 and A64s, but I think the jury is still out.

I know my vcore is pretty high compared to what others use for 24/7 use, but temps are decent - 38 C peak under load on air. I'm going to see how high I can take her and still bench stable. 2915 is as far as I've gone so far, so there's some more left I think. And Ozzi, mine doesn't seem to be too picky about RAM timings as you said yours is. But I've only tested mine with BH5 and CH-UTT. Still waiting to see more 3400 results, but they're hard to find so far.

i agree. i have weird issues with my ballistix, but none with my bh-5.. i think it's more a relationship between the board and ram though, as my neo wasn't nearly as finicky

i had the same problem with my prime. super pi 32m would pass without errors on multiple loops. as soon as i started to prime, it would fail within 4-12 min. i got to the point where i didnt care if it failed prime and just let it fold. end result was me coming into my room to see the computer off. from that point, ive decided not to question prime anymore.

im still blaming the ram and will probably end up switching it. i dont wanna pump too much volts through it so im probably gonna end up ordering some 2x512 ocz gold pc3200 from the egg when it gets in stock.

The wierd thing with mine is it was fine prime stable at 2800 and all with ultra tight timings and 230 1:1 only limited because crapper psu. All sudden one day it wont even post with nothing changed? and now im on bios it pr4viously wouldnt post on but cant pass memtest at loose timings at 200?
I think somewhere my dimm 3 has taken a dump on me somehow, as i said before both sticks will 240 with 3.1 in memtest single but once together cant touch 200 without over 2k errors after playin with timings all d@mn day. It sucks to have to rma the board but i think it is something with dimm 3, now i know it sounds noobish and all but it was workin fine the day b4 and nothing has changes since then, ive done everything in my power to try to get it back to where it previously was with no luck whatsoever, and now i gues sit has came to RMA

Is the DFI the only board that can run the Newark? I'm still running an Epox 8KDA3J.

it works on my k8n neo platinum too, but that's one of the boards that is known to support mobiles..

    i don't think epox does

Is it an actual hardware limitation or is Epox just not supporting the chips in the BIOS?

im noticing that this chip is getting better over time. current specs are::2760mhz=1.45v=30c load running folding@home=230x12=2-2-2-5 1:1 mem at 3.1v. next thing im gonna do is replace that stupid chipset heatsink on the dfi...WAYYY TO HOT!!!. other mods will include some new bga ramsinks for the 6600gt. so far, im really happy with the vid card running at stock speeds, so i probably wont be OCing it. other than that, i think im gonna be done with this round of building. gonna start saving up and preparing for my duallie build, and eperimentation with TEC'S. ((dunno why i put that there, it just cracks me up... lmao))
