it's never fast enough!
don't use 510-anything, use the newest one (which was just posted above about), or use the old one 2-17, I haven't tested any other ones, so I'm only advising on what I know works (2-17), and other ppl have been getting the new bios to work. Also, what I haven't heard, anyone else getting any other bios to work, so........ have funOriginally Posted by PicaXuu

Could sb tell me if Mushkin Redline has Aluminium or Copper Heat Sink?
i couldn't find that info anywhere, but i'd like to know, cause i have some copper HS at home and i don't know if i sell them or not.
don't have rams yet.

but that's kinda bad, but on the other hand good, i could use my heatsinks.
Just wondering,
Has anyone with a Zippy/Emacs or a pc power and cooling experienced random UTT death?
I wonder if it could be psu related at least in part....

Asus Maximus V Extreme
8gb Samsung Green @ 2600mhz 11-11-11-31
EVGA GTX 680
Corsair AX850
XSPC Watercooling
as far as I know, UTT death is from too much voltage, and the IC unable to handle it... CH cant handle the same as BH, and im sure not 100% of the BH can handle 3.6v like the old stuff, so PSU shouldn't have much of an effect, aside from steady rails.Originally Posted by computerpro3

The steady rails is what I was wondering about; more specifically the golden rule of always keping the lines <200mv above vdimm less LARGE and RAPID fluctuations. The majority of psu's dont practice 1% regulation, even if they are spec'd for it, and I'm wondering if rapid vdimm fluctuation resulting from rail fluctuation could have something to do with it.Originally Posted by dippyskoodlez
PCP&C and Zippy simply don't fluctuate, and I don't recall seeing anyone with those psu's have a death, so It was just something that dawned on me....

Actually... PS can have an effect... particularly when it comes to noise and noise spikes (or the absence there of), when you're running something on the edge.
Regarding root cause of most UTT deaths... jury is still out. Some were initially thought to be dead because of the cold bug issue... some were likely killed due to the DIMM slots being powered at cold-boot on DFI nF4 before the MB is turned on and peeps swapping memory in that condition -- especially when faced with the no-boot cold-boot issue because of the low Vmem being applied (fixed in BIOSes 61x)... some were likely killed because peeps applied V to them like they were old school BH5... I suspect there are even some that might have had the data I/O pads fried due to too tight timings on Rd-Wr turnarounds... then there are some that are yet unknown...

I would greatly appreciate the help.
At 240Mhz I use these settings:
YELLOW memory slots
LDT/FSB 4x
LDT BUS 16/16
PCI EXPRESS 105Mhz
CPU VID START/CPU VID 1.425v
SPECIAL VID CONTROL 110%
LDT 1.4v
CHIPSET 1.6v
DRAM 3.2v
DISABLED 0.3v setting
timings: as appear in the BIOS 2 2 5 2 7 14 2 2 2 2 auto auto enabled auto 0 auto auto 7ns 6ns 16 cycles disabled 8x 4x disabled(8 bursts)
I have used the same but with looser timings and a higher DRAM at 250Mhz which failed.

some things you could try
1. Set Idle Cycle Limit to 256.
2. LTD to 3x
3.+0.03V to Enable
what are your drive strength settings?
and which bios are you using now?
I'm using the orange slots, since they gave me more stability at higher clocks
did you try JNav89GT's settings?
