I just spoke with a high level AMD rep off the record. He said that some of the Venice/San Diego parts will start to show up as early as next week in the USA. The whole roll out may be within 3 weeks or so. The stock that they will be replacing will be cleared out of AMD's inventory to a great extent before the various new parts with those same basic model #'s (like 4000+ etc.) ship. So cpu's with same model #'s in low stock may show up first. This is a primary reason for the current delay. Japan does see some parts earlier because of the location of the main shipping centers. I did get confirmation that the new FX55 "BN" part will be a pretty good preview of the early FX57's in terms of performance and overclocking headroom. So all in all it shouldn't be too much longer.
As far as pre-order reseller ETA dates, he said they are not very reliable and no hard dates are really provided to them. (obviosly )
