I really don't want to prolong this discussion any longer, but what you are saying above could describe almost any new or revised piece of hardware that has ever been released. This is par for the course as far as new releases and revisions go. It's frustrating, but that is just the way it is.

The 55 runs at 2.6 and the 4000+ at 2.4

The die that is the most potent CPU for the desktop market is still the Athlon 64 FX-55, which also works with 2.6GHz. It's no secret that the HyperTransport links of these processors can achieve higher data transfer speeds of around 8 GB/s when working according to the HT1000 standard. AMD rates the thermal design power of its new dual-core processor with just under 200 million transistors at a little less than 93 watts - a far cry from Intel's TDP 115 or TDP 130.

No news of fx55 90nm here either and this is from AMD factor tour just a few days ago
That makes no mention of my e4 250's

Yup, I'm guessing mid may. AMD may be stalling to clear out some old stock.

Kind of off topic but Anand is reporting that "the FX-55 and 57 will co-exist, with the FX-57 being introduced at around $900, due out in June."

I sent an email to Monarch to verify the delay. I think I will cancel since I HAVE to have a CPU by the 29th....and with the 57 coming out the 55 will drop in price soon.

Also of note from Anand is that the 4000+ will be the last A64, all other speed bumps will come only from FX.

Sorry, let me change that. The 4000+ will be the last single core. 4200+ will be dual core according to Anand.

I just got off the phone with "Jeff" at Monarch and they are delayed 1 week. He pretty much assured me that the 29th was a good date.......I guess wait and see.

Anyone up for a 3800+ venice, have a gander here in the UK, they even ship to the states, plus you guys get VAT lopped off too. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal..._939_cpus.html , I can vouch these guys are legit and are a very good shop, infact the most well known here in the UK.

I know this forum is likely US dominated - but anyway high end venice and both san diegos confirmed on sale in Akiba (shop called Bless). So maybe its the US resellers or distributors not AMD holding them back to clear stocks?

Actually their 3700+'s are already sold out!

Are you buying it from Bless or are other stores there carrying them too? 63000 yen for the 4000+ so roughly USD595 correct? Venice 3800 comes in at USD410ish.
