Anyone pre-order their Venice/Diego yet?

i talked to Sparco few minutes ago , 2.45 PM eastern time , and they said that still havent received the first batch of new Venice/SanDiego's but they probably will , in couple hours

I was about to order the same processor FX55 .90nm but decided to cancel as i have a fx 55 130mircon right now. I am going to wait until i see the results before selling my FX55.

I did place a order with sparco 2 days ago for the FX55 .90nm but decided to cancel today. I dont know how they can say they are receiving a shipment when their distributor INGRAM MICRO hasnt even gotten them yet or ASI or D&H, I have reseller accounts with all these but INGRAM MICRO and have found that they arent in stock yet. I might be wrong with INGRAM MICRO but SPARCO isnt receiving any FX55 .90nm at a so called SPARCO warehouse. The SPARCO rep told me that they dropship from INGRAM MICRO to the buyer. The only way you can clear this up is to check on INGRAM MICROs website with a reseller account. I dont have one there since they charge a fee of 100 bucks . all the other major distributors dont have them yet. But i will call and find out and reply back.

I ordered from Sparco but I am getting the feeling they are bs'ing us. I think they are going to push the date back. Hope I'm wrong though. Would love to have my 3700 to play around with.

I just called D&H major AMD distributor and the rep told me that there is no ETA . However they might be in stock this week or next week. I think it might be this week sometime wendsday or later. He told me AMD does not give a exact date and they just give a in and around date so to speak. So i am guessing sometime this week or end of april. Sparco is bsing if you ask me . I will try to call ASI see what happens

IMO Monarch shipment dates of the first week in May are probably as accurate as can be expected. Also if you notice they have different expected shipment dates for the OEM and the Retail versions. If Sparco is a distrubtor then they may indeed be getting some this week, but only time will tell.

SPARCO is a store, they get their parts from distributors i.e ingram micro , ASI , D&H.

For eastern Canada, I called Supercom (distributor) and my sale rep emailed
her boss 3 times and she couldn't get a definitive date, one thing for sure it
is not in stock yet. My other 2 distributors (Comtronic and Mini-micro) don't
have it also. Retailers are toying with you guys, me think!!

i recieved an email from sparco saying that the eta for the 3200 venice i ordered has changed to 4/22 originally 4/18

If anything Sparco is getting bad information from THEIR distributor...Everyone over there I've talked to has been really nice and professional...if they're purposly lying to everyone about this, then they've all had really good lying training...because I've had alot of people try to blow smoke up my ass over the years, and while there's still people out there that can get me, I don't think their whole staff is that good at lying

but like someone mentioned earlier, we'll find out more tomorrow...hopefully they'll be in start shipping tomorrow, if not, we'll still be waiting like everyone else is...If they do slip however, god help them for the firestorm that people around here will flame up...I don't really care, I'll be disappointed, sure...but I'm not going to throw a tantrum over it...I'm not out any money, and I'm not passing up a potentially better deal elsewhere trying for this one...It's a bit of a gamble sure, but I'm not going to cry if it doesn't pay off...even if they don't ship it tomorrow they're still the lowest price, and I don't see them recieving the parts later than what anyone else is so...eh...w/e

I don't think a distributor would lie and say that they shipped something out that they really don't even have. If anyone is lying I think it's Sparco.

I think the only one blowing things out of proportion is you. When did anyone say that they were going to hunt down anyones family? If you have never been involved in a pre release then you would not know that right now it looks as if Sparco might be dangling the proverbial carrot out in front of us knowing full well that they will not have the chips in until early May. It is a typical tactic by a store that knows that they cant really compete with other big etailers such as Newegg and Monarch when it comes to getting customers like us to shop with them. Sparco is hoping that alot of the pre orders will say oh well at least I already have it ordered. I dont think that OPB is wrong in cancelling if he thinks this is going on.

Monarch's ETA for OEM Venice is the most accurate afaik. I hear AMD even indicated they'd ship in May.

However, if they originally said april, that could mean they're having problems with getting consistent ratings for the chips, which means we might be seeing bad Venices from the start this time . However, that is a worst case scenario. I dont even know why Amd is in such a hurry to ship these, its not like Intel has anything up its sleeve
