I gotta quick question. I am getting $2500 from the company i work for to buy a computer for "educational" purposes. I'd like to order it in the next couple weeks so heres my question. Should i just get a FX-55, or San Deigo 4000+ or wait for the FX-57. Also, anyone have an idea on when the FX-57 is gonna come out/cost?
last thing i herd from my birdie is 57 wont come till Q3 because of 90nm 55 my birdie could be wrong tho
3000+ venice from sparco here!
Yeh. I'm itching for the new AMD Turion for my Socket754 board. .
Core i3-550 Clarkdale @ 4.2GHz, 1.36v (Corsair A50 HS/F) LinX Stable
MSI H55-GD65 Motherboard
G.Skill 4GBRL DDR3-1600 @ 1755, CL9, 1.55v
Sapphire Radeon 5750 1GB
Samsung F4 320GB - WD Green 1TB
Xigmatek Utgard Case - Corsair VX550
I plan on getting one when they are available coz i bought 4x512 TCCD sticks like 2 weeks ago to initiate the build of a new rig so now i need the missing parts as soon as possible. Waiting for results is not relevant in this case as i have to buy one anyway, just hope they'll do well.
what is a Venice ? San Diego ? ----------3 --------------7.50%
Personally I have FAITH (thats a big word) that the new San Diego will be a better OCer than the Winchester. True the initial stepings may not OC as well as later ones, but then again ? I just gota have one ! lol
+ if I can just get 2800mhz out of it with the 1mb cache I'd be real happy for the $340 I spent, sure beats the $1000+ the FX57 is going to cost.

I preordered a 3700+ from Sparco on 4/13. I sincerely hope it comes in 4/18 as promised....
I'll be a waiter and snipe a 3700+ when the time is right. Might be as soon as they're "in stock" or as late as in "nice price". I really should be more worried about replacing my 6600gt with something alittle more "high end" but in reality most of the games i play run OK at 1600x1200x32 with no AA or AF which is what i prefer. I would however be very pleased with a SD running in the 2.8-2.9GHz region on water.

Antec P180
umm San Diego won't be available in the 3200+ flavour later on would it? Cos if so, i'd rather wait for that then get the Venice.
I don't expect ANY of the online retailers to have them in stock b4 the first week in May, and even then only in limited qty.

Why? It's supposed to launch at 3.4GHz max, nearly 1 year after Smithfield's measly 3.2GHz top speed.Originally Posted by Sentential

Well... I wasn't going to preorder my 3700 because Monarch was saying it wouldn't ship until the 2nd and I've never used Sparco. But I looked up Sparco on Resellerratings and they appear to be genuinely good so I went ahead and ordered. Hopefully I got in on the first shipment.
I'm not a resident of the US. So I;ve decided to wait untill San-Diego hits the streets of my little country. If you think about it for a moment, it is always good to wait for the 2nd batch, don't care what's the price, or how far the ETA is. I wouldn't like to be a guiena pig nor the ones who are always jumping on the 1st batch.
A Sandy with 1M cache is very tempting... but with a Winnie that Would...
You need to add a voting option, "When have cash for the cache"
*Hopes Uncle Sam sends "rebate" soon*
Poll doesnt have, "already have a Diego" option, heh. There are some advantages to s940 after all...
Currently the chip does 2.825ghz with about 1.42v on water. Having the 13x multi is very nice too
there is a 3ghz shot in there somewhere too.
