Question Anyone pre-order their Venice/Diego yet?

Just pre-ordered mine from Monarch, just curious if everyone was waiting for results ? or like me can't wait 2 weeks to be on the shelf.

    I ordered a 3700+ w/ 1mb to replace the 3500+ I'm using now.

Pre-ordered the 3700 from Sparco. That is to replace the 3500 venice. Dont know how smart that was but I really like the 1mg cache.

You dont realize how pissed I am right now! Do you know how long I have been planning for this computer? One year!! Everyday I have created several wishlists on nenwegg, I have read hundreds of reviews. I waited for Nforce 4, I waited for nf4 mobos, I waited for winchester, then I began waiting for Venice one month ago. Now Venice has come, and I cannot order my parts!!

How much was I able to save during this on eyear you ask? Only $960, but I was content with that. I was going to have to use a 9 year old 15 in CRT moniter to save money, but I was still happy.

Now, several hours ago, my parents accountant called, and......well, you know.

lol, sorry for my unproductive posts.

It seems to me that the 3700+ is going to be favored above all the new CPUs. Not only does it have the san diego core, but it also has 1 mb L2 cache. Just out of curiosity, why dud you guts pre-order a 4000+, when a OC'ed 3700+ would out perform it?

Id guess that he believes the 4000+ to be a higher speed bin and therefore overclock better or maybe he needs the 12x multi under a prometeia to run his VX ram 1:1

anyway.....I'm going to wait for results before I jump on it was my vote. We do not yet have a large sample of Venice and im not the only one waiting to see how a 3000+ Venice overclocks, those saying it will do 2.8GHz are speculating. We have seen what reviewers got but I arent buying a 3800+ Venice

My reasoning is simple, 3 of the kids computers are now on socket 939 so any upgrades I do also benefit the kids and their comps. Atleast thats how I justify spending money I don't have ! lol

I've been waiting for over a year and it looks like I'll still be waiting atleast one more. Taking 18 credit hours of upper division/ graduate courses of Electrical Engineering while working "only" 20 hours a week in a low income job (because the demand for jobs in this ares is so high, employers pay crap) and supporting a wife and kid means I don't have any money for an upgrade. Hopefully I'll get a real job next year when I graduate and then I can fantasize.

    *hugs 2500+ and 9800 pro*

just a side note, there should be an option for all of us 754 guys: the new 3700+ newark
(it would have gotten my vote if it was there, instead i picked the most applicable one, i'll wait till it's in stores, cause i have to)

    1) There is this thing called school if you didn't know! It takes up a sizable chuck of a teenagers day, not to mention homework.

    2) I did, and I apologized for it , then I followed up my apology with a meaningful post. Now its your turn to stop spamming.

To avoid making this post meaningless spam, I will continue on my post in a dignified fashion:

Some people have not pre-ordered Venice because of the mystery surrounding the relese date. What if one ordered a Venice chip today, and it didn't ship until the middle of May as Monarch suggests?

Ordered the 4000+ from Monarch. I have a 2.4GHz proc now and didn't want to lose the overall speed of regular tasks by going with the 3700+ just in case it didn't clock well. I also am counting on them being speed binned and hoping for better clocks. Keep in mind that if this processor doesn't overclock well I will probably still be using it in 8 months.
What's really going to be interesting is if these will be able to support 245-260 FSB/HTT at 4x512 with 1t. The PC Perspective article says he was able to 4x512 at 1t but never said how high he got them.

The weak momory controllers negate one of the advantages of 64-bit. Opposed to 32-bit which can only access 4 GB of ram, 64-bit should be able to access millions of GB, don't ask where I got that number. Some editor said it on cnet.com.

    I need a 4000+ for the 12x multi, but I can't afford $540 right now. This sucks.
