Explain your problem and what you did in German.

Nur leider sagt mir mein Flashprogramm: This file is not a correct Bios file!

    Leni,

all I wrote about modifying the "(SP) NCPUCODE" module is just theoretical stuff.
All my mainboards, which I have use an AMD processor, so I never did a
    "(SP) NCPUCODE" module modification.

Furthermore, CPU microcodes / CPU micro code updates do not need to have a size of 2KB.
They also can be 3KB, 5KB or 7KB.
You just need to check the first bytes of the first CPU code,
then you will find the others.

However, there are two ore more positions with checksums inside the BIOS file.
They have to also be fixed/corrected after the BIOS modification.

Try to use the BIOS Information Tool(Twinssoft, StarGaz0r)

    http://www.stargaz0r.nm.ru/files/bit14.zip
to check the different checksums inside the BIOS file
    before and after the modification.

I copied the the 2KByte cpu code parts...:
    + 0f41 ID 0D
    + 0f41 ID 12
    + 0f43
    + 0f44

    ...from this BIOS file
    into my IC7-Max3 bios

After the modification, CBROM displays the new added/replaced CPU codes without problems.
The size of the listed "NCPUCODE.BIN" & the size of the BIOS.bin file(524.288 Bytes)
    are accurate.

However, the FLASH program brings an error message:
This file is not a correct Bios file!

I used "UltraEdit-32" to copy the cpu codes from one BIOS file to the bios file for/of my mainboard.

I do not have really much skills and knowledges about this kind of BIOS modification.
I think, there are more steps necessary.

So, it would be nice if you could help.

No you can't use different BIOS from different brands, doing so will damage your hardware.

    Hi!
First of all I would like to say im very impressed by these programms!
Ive been searching a while for a way to make a AGP/PCI divider, my Mobo is an Asrock K7S8XE+. It divides nicely with 6 till FSB 200mhz, but I would rather have a divider of 7/8 so I could go till FSB 233/265. Out of the Datasheet I could see that the IC supports this, but Asrock didnt want to use this feature, dont ask me why though!

    here is the datasheet: http://pdf.alldatasheet.com/datashee...ICS952703.html

I know nothing about bios modding, but isnt it like programming a PIC? You can set ports high or low, and in that way you could tell the ICS 952703 to "activate" the 7/8 divider, right?

Well then this means I can't run Vdimms higher than 2.85V (as my K8N Neo Platinum supports it as max)

There must be some way to include higher Vdimm in BIOS

I think you'll have to hard mod it to supply more VDIMM.

How hard would it be to use these tools to add Newark / mobile CPU support to the Epox 8KDA3J and 8KDA3+? Is it possible? modbin6 already allows me to unlock the hidden 1.8V VCORE option in the BIOS. The latest BIOS has already been updated to support Rev. E CPUs. I'd like to pick up a Newark 4000+ when they are released.

    Borg Number One,

    MODBIN6 2.01.01 (06/25) without any problems.
Is there anyone who can send me MODBIN6 2.01.01 file, please?

    Thanks!

    Still no one!!!

The problem is that I can edit the "System BIOS" component with an hex editor, but I can´t add it to the main BIOS file. Or replace the existing one!

    Hi Borg Number One.

Thanks for your reply. I eventually found it on an Asian site. As I said before on this thread -> http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=77122

    Thanks anyway.

Borg number one, Can you look in to this BIOS and see if theres a HTT and multi setting hiden in it. Its for a Tul ax480a7-f ATI RX480/ULI setup. I emailed TUL about this and looks like they wont put the options on/unlock.
Here is the BIOS and its a AMI bios.

    Hi.

All options are already visible. There are no more options to unhide.

I just can replace the small AMI logo or the ATI fullscreen logo.

Hi Borg, I have no clue on modding mobo's bios, could you tell me if there are any hidden options in this bios from Evga nf3 board? ftp://evga.com/NF31_A42.bin
I'm specially looking for FSB Spread Spectrum option... I tried a few versions of Modbin but didn't understand how to perform changes in the menus... This bios also has a huge fullscreen logo that I wanted to remove

    Thanks,
    nobre

There's nothing hidden actually, as per removing logo, it is quite easy to do, just download awdbedit.

By the way, this motherboard is actually Jetway N250DAG.

You can download BIOS A03 here:

    thanks for the quick reply
are all mobos from evga built by them? i didn't know that o.O it was hella cheap and my former chaintech had to be rma'd so i gave it a try, actually like it, only thing that bothers me is that clockgen hangs on abrupt HTT speed changes, if i go 10 by 10mhz it will go stable up to 300, but if i try to raise it from 200 to 250 for instance, its instant crash... That's why I was looking for FSB spread spectrum, maybe that could be causing this

Is it safe to flash that file to test it on my evga?
