Wow... and you are sure the locks are working now with tht bios?
How would I tell??
I crap out at about 249-250fsb 1:1, but I was thinking it was the memory seeing as how it`s only PC3500.
The world`s only triple phase-changer PC in one case.
they are working
you wouldn't get that far w/out locks
it's never fast enough!
rukee you oc by bios or by clockgent?
this week i have a 3500+ and a a8v 1.02 like you
but my memory its adata 4000
you think tat i can hit 250 1:1 ?
2.5-4-3-10 1T
thanks
I boot at 220fsb, then use the setfsb to bump it up from there.
whats the difference between 1005.020 and 1005.021?
im testing the 1005.020 now, locks works amd seems rock stable at 2600Mhz still on air
never used 1005.020, just used the 21 variant. Heard the 21 was better, but I have no basis for comparison.
My locks work. Too bad my memory won't scale as high as Rukee's.
it's never fast enough!
After testing both I have to say the 1005.020 is much more stable, and faster the 1005.021.Originally posted by JNav89GT

Can you run some Super Pi for Us?
4930K@5.2GHz/ASUS RIV BE/G-Skill 16GB/4x EVGA GTX 780Ti Classified Kingpin Edition with EK-WB's/4x Rosewill Hercules 1600W PSU's for GPU's/Thermaltake 1200W for MB/Cooling: CPU-Vapo, MB/GPU: A/C Conversion Chiller
I wish I could run SuperPi there! :p
It`ll run Sanda at 262 and 01 at 259.
Strange is it scores the same in SuperPi @ 235 (32secs) as it does at 248fsb (32secs). What would the bottle neck be there??

superpi's scores have a pretty large spread from point to point as far as mhz and fsb go.

Hi Guys,
I am new here. I came here because you guys are the best, and know all the newest hardware on the market and I need a little help.
I am building a CAD system that will be running stock. I need the most reliable motherboard solution on the market. I could go with socket 940 or 939. I like Asus stuff, but Wrench tells me that people have problems with the A8V Deluxe motherboard. I am also looking at MSI and Abit as motherboard suppliers. What is your guys experience with these motherboards? What do you recommend as the most stable, trouble-free board?
Thanks for your input!

if the locks aren't working it sucks for overclocking
solution 1 get a bios with working locks and it OCs pretty good and stable.
solution 2 don't OC the board more than 5% and will be fine.
problems mainly are if the locks aren't working and you OC the board past 220 FSB then the SATA becomes unstable. I have a 1.02 board and loaded bios 1005.21 and it runs nice. I can run 2.6 - 2.7 ghz and stock is 2.2 ghz
Since you are going to run stock speeds you will have NO issues.
get the asus and OC that puppy about 10% should be safe and fine. Just make sure locks are working.
i7 6700K @4.8 ghz
XSPC RayStorm (very nice block)
Z170 Sabertooh ,, 32GB- Gskill (15-15-15-36 @3600 mhz) 1:1
XFX-7970 with Swiftech Komodo nickel block
Water Cooling - MO-RA3 Pro with 4 Silverstone 180mm @ 700 rpm, Twin Vario mcp-655 pumps
Samsung 850-1TB SSD,, OCZ ZX-1250W (powerfull and silent)
Crossfire 30" decent monitor for IPS too bad SED tech died
Docsis2.0 Docsis3.0

Thanks iboomalot and xgman.
I really want to go with the Asus solution cause they are my favorite brand. I have built hundreds of systems with them and only a couple have had issues. I really dont want to go with MSI cause almost every motherboard i bought, i had problems! Abit is great stuff too, but I dont know how there 64 bit lineup is in terms of stability.
Thanks Hell-fire
that I can do ... heheh
Any luck with removing the OVP m8?
I tried that toy from OCZ on my A8V v1.02 and past 2,97v the comp freezes, I believe its the OVP...
some ppl are saying they are reaching 3,15 with the vmod, ill try it tomorrow
man... If i was close to u I would donate a mboard for u to "play" with LOL
