    OK guys.....got a weird thing going on here.

    Have some kind of limit at 142mhz FSB...100% stable @ 140...superPI @ 142...no boot @ 143 an I got a loooooonb beep.

    Tried to lower the multis...but still the same. I know it´s not my memory because they do 280ish @ decent timings and a tad below 300 with crappy timings, so that shouldn´t be the problem....also tried running singel stick but nogo. Tried different agp/pci locks but still the same.

    Mabye an agp/chiset modd in order..?!?!?

    That sounds like a memory error.

    Are you trying to run cas 2,5 ? If so you need to use the 105 bios, cas 2,5 won't work on earlier bioses.

    I hope you can shed some light on it! And yeah, the clockgen is VERY buggy for me on the DFI. AND note the glitchy 150+ where the windows slows down and icons won't open then it blackscreens and gives a Display Driver Erroe upon reboot.

    C
    That points to how the clock gen has been programmed....I will have the DFI guys have a look over here at what we are doing and see if they can help.

    I really do like this board but the new DDR2 boards are just about to hit, maybe we should be looking for these boards to give us the overclocking we desperately need...a little birdy told me a certail DDR2 dothan board should be pretty sweet

    I am running 1.05 bios....first thing I did before installing OS was to flash latest bios. Haven´t tried to run cas2...tbh I haven´t even thought about it since it didn´t like cas2 in my winchester rigg....toped out at about 220 with cas2.
    I´ll give it a try tonight.

    Nice OC!

    Are you using ClockGen exclusively, or the motherboard settings to overclock? What is your vcore and vdimm?

    And just curious....are you running Win2K or XP with the Classic interface?

    I still have the same issue going on here.... I can OC up to 160+ with CG, but if I try to do ANYTHING in Windows, it moves in SLOOOOOOOOOOWW MOTION. And then sometimes blackscreens, and comes back with a "Display Driver Error notice"..... this is the same EVEN with agp/pci set to 75/38!
    But AGAIN, I can confirm that at lower speeds, the difference in sPi between like 200mHz mem speed and 240 is like 2 seconds!!! These things are ABSOLUTELY bandwidth-starved!

    try 88/44
    the higher you go the higher AGP/PCI you need (w/ the DFI that is..).

    Have no idea wtf is going on with this....tried some memtest86+ v.115.

    My mems wont do much above 230 with cas2...so I ran it with 2,5.
    140/234 is OK....runs thru all tests and test5 multiple times...but when I set it to 141/235 it freezes instantly at test5.

    Memory I´m running is Adata DDR600.

    why would you bother locking the pci/agp clocks at those speeds? especially if the agp really doesn't lock at all.

    it's a genuine question, no criticism

    cos it makes possible to run higher FSB without the 'slow-mo' effect

    AGP not locking at all? Really? you mean w/ DFI or with AOpen or w/ both?

    with the DFI, I believe it was bigtoe who said that or at least he leaned towards that conclusion.

    Just to clarify.

    The PCI lock on the DFI works bang on..set 33 and it stays at 33.
    AGP lock im not so sure about.

    Max fsb 1:1 for me was 190, max fsb async was 170.

    I can run 3:4 low graphics at 150/200 all day at 16x150 1.26V for a super quiet server but it has the odd issue with my ATI cards if I go AGP..setting a higher lock value helped.

    Hope this helps you guys

    OK guys....have been fiddeling around with abit more...mobo is still unmodded...everything is as it comes in the package.

    Higest 3D stable fsb...won´t post any 3dmk shoot because I´m running ati9250 atm...and it would just be embaressing...

    One other odd thing I ran into with this Aopen mobo ....as I reposted before I couldn´t go past 235mhz on memory no matter what I did...really anoying, knowing that those A-Data DDR600 sticks does 280ish in dualchannel on Neo2.
    So when fiddeling around with different settings I noticed the timings reported by memtest was not the same as I have set in bios....and reported by Cpu-Z.
    In bios I set 2,5-3-3-7 (that is "By SPD" settigs to)...and 3:4 and 160fsb..this gives 213mhz as you can se....but take a look at the timings reported by Memtest and Cpu-Z ......WTF
    Cpu-Z
    Memtest

    If memtest DOES report the right setting being used by the mobo and cpu-z gets it all wrong.. then this might be the explination to why it won´t go further...as those stick won´t run stable much above 220ish with anything set to 2.

    Anyone else noticed anything similiar to this with Apoen mob and TCCD sticks...or any other 855 mobo...???

    So I'd suggest doing a VID4 and a VID 2 which I THINK gives 1.67v and adjust it in BIOS..........

    hello
    could you explain by a picture how you do this mod ? i identified the pin vid4 on the datasheet
    thanks

    they ALL seem to do about 2.4-2.5gHz default volts and 2.6-2.8 with better air and 1.6v

    I just wonder, cos on eBay i've seen one with a SL7GL stepping.
    Never seen that b4 @XS, only hear mentioning SL7EM/SL7EN's.
    Is there any theory around the stepping. Higher in the alphabeth means newer stepping? Like on AXP's and Winbond chips? I'm new with Pentium.

    Edit:
    I found what those codes mean
    SL7GL = 1.5ghz dothan
    SL7EN = 1.8ghz dothan
    SL7EM = 2.0ghz dothan

    Does your vidcards/whole system get glitches when running high fsb/agp clocks on the Aopen even when usin 37/74 lock? I have been reading some experiences complaining about system laggin´ ...i´m seriously thinking about buying Aopen + 735 set(Already have Rad X800 Pro VIVO@ XT PE +), but the overal smoothiness of the combo on high clocks(fsb >160) makes me wonder if this is worth it?

    Anyone got a link to a picture of the Boxed Dothan cooler?
