    939 + 2x512 BH5 = ???

I have heard the 939 MB don't like BH5 unless its 256 sticks or if its running at low speed.

Can anyone comment on why this is so and if it will ever change?

i have some bh-5 double sidded crosair that up until now in 754 and intel platforms has had np running 260-255 1T with 3.2v so we will see how they run in this 939 platform once my msi arrives... i hope that there isnt a problem would be a waste of such good memory not to be able to use them...

    peace perc,

Agree 2T sucks bigtime but that is not the question. But I would be supprised if you could run a gig at anything over 225mhz t1.

    peace perc,
based on my reserach, ONLY MSI K8N NEO2 PLTINUM doesn't like BH5.GIGABYT-939 have no problem at all. I am using the mushkin bh5 1g + neo2 right now. I have to set the FSBDR to 3:2 or 5:3 to make them stable. seems BH5 cannot go over 200 on this combination.

running 3000+ @ 2.6ghz @ mem166 tightest timings + 1t now. Thats ~236mhz on the memory. Haven't tried anything 3d, but it is memtest stable. Priming now.

yeah 2T isn't something you want to run unless you can gain about...I'd say 20mhz or more using 2T other wise I wouldn't consider it worth it. double sided sticks don't overclock as high in genral. Thats why a 256mb stick noramlly can out pace a 512 stick in a overclock. Again just as a general rule, not something that needs to be help fast to.
