    Ditch the IHS

Mine worked fine this way b4 I went back to H20. (Pretty much the same as now but 13c warmer.

If done right MUCH better clamping and NO CPU chipping.

I recommend this over an XP-120 (better clamping, safe for CPU, dropped my temps by 5c (yeah I was surprised @ teh drop also ) had to flatten teh top on the CPU, use 2000 grit paper on flat glass w/ water.

Thanks but i have the original 1.3 bios (not a modded version), I just use core-center to increase my voltage to 1,832V, First i selected the highest voltages in my bios (for example 1,5V +10%), then i booted in windows and start core-center and downclock the voltages in core-center to the lowest as possible. then i reboot again to the bios to make sure my voltages are still the same and save it again. then I boot windows again and start core-center, and this time i put the voltages as high as possible, wich results in 1,832V (other voltages are also possible).

this also work with bios 1.4 (as that was my orriginal mobo bios, but i downgraded due raid problems with 1.4).

    2909mhz was 3hours prime stable

2890mhz was prime stable 12+ hours

Primes @2400 stock voltage. It gamed for about 45min stock voltage @2500, but SuperPrime failed within 10 mins. Ive stayed at 2500 for now and uped the vcore to 1.45 seeing how long prime lasts now.

my 3200 oc reach its limits??

    hi guys

well this the oc 100 % stable i reached , cause it seems that its the top of this winnie or maybe not??

cause i put it more voltage even up to 1.85 and can't stable it, the mems are stable cause i use prime 95 on memos and they can reach 245 at 3.2 v

are the limits of my winnie 2.5 ghz??? cause i thought i could have it 2.7 but anything above 2.5 with any voltage is not stable

    my validation

    Guys,

I need some advices on my overclocking.

I'm using my system at 246x10 = 2460 MHz, 166 divider, resulting in 205 MHz at 2-2-2-5. The system is fast with this speed, Primed, OCCT passed, etc..., and the vcore is 1.52v.

So I tried 240x10 = 2400 MHz, with the memory 1:1 in 240 MHz at 2.5-3-3-6 (I did 4 loops in Memtest, ok for that speed) but I've tried a lot of different vcores and the CPU is unstable. It can't run 2 minutes on Prime, locks on games, totally unstable. I tested vcores from 1.4-1.6v and nothing!

What might be happening? Why did the CPU can handle 246 but can't 240? My HTT is configured to 4x, and I don't know what else I can try. I'm using BIOS 1.8mod.

    Does anyone have any idea?

    Thanks a lot!

Very good chance it's your RAM. Memtest doesn't always mean that your computer will be stable at that speed. Back off on your RAM bit, and have you tried more volts to your RAM?

    Hi,

    I've tried 2.8v but didn't help anyway. 240 - 2.5.3.3.6 passes ok with 2.7v and 2.8v. So I left it on 2.7v.

I also think that could be my RAM too, because I can't go like 220 MHz at 2.2.2.5, I don't know if this 3200XL likes much voltage or not, but I haven't test beyond 2.8v. Any tips? My maximum vram in the Neo2 its 2.85v...

    Thanks!!

Some do some dont or should I say Most do. It sucks because I have two that clock real good on air (xp90), one of which will boot 2907mhz (NOT stable) but is bench stable @ 2885mhz. I've thought about hooking it up to my chiller and slowly bringing the temp down to find the limit but havent had the time.

Hmm, I have tried a lot of em, and I can recommend 1.41 beta or as I am using now, the v1.8 official which I think is the most stable and gives the best OC.

My Oc results so far for the cpu stepping posted above are.
2.3ghz on stock vcore and stock heatsink and fan.
Ill get a better heatsink and fan soon time. Also better ram.
I want to see what this cpu can do.
