Holy ***t. Amd is going to shred intel in 3dmark methinks. Now when can I get a newcastle/winchester that clocks like that?

yeah, i agree with kunaak, those heatsinks are well designed, man, excellent job misterroadster, congrats on ur high scores
it's hard to tell you if the temps are exactly the same because i ve flashed to F5 bios and it does changes on temps monitoring.Originally Posted by saaya

Wholy crap!!!!! 3.1ghz on Air???????? NOWAY
What kind of a heatsink is that??? Thermalright SP90?

But the chip still does well on air 2.8ghz which is like FX57 and 3ghz is like FX59, pretty amazing knowing your ahead like 1 year ahead.
I also thought that stock heatsink is Thermalright SP90 because it looks exactly the same. I'd like to know what are the temp. with it at stock voltage and if its worth spending 50 bucks for the SP90.
Misterroadster, which memory are you using on the 3500+ 0.09 ??
You know normally I throw the boxed hsf in the pile but to be honest if you get rid of that fan and stick an 80cfm delta on it I can't see the normal extreme heatsinks such as Thermalright etc doing that much better.Originally Posted by misteroadster
I guess when you pay £600 for a cpu they can afford a good quality heatsink.

Thats just because the results on air are so amazing, these chips are reaching the limits of what they can do.

if Intel put those babies on a presscott retail package.. that would be smart on their end.. sigh ever since 1992 their fans and stickers on the fans havn't changed.. and they still insist on using crappy heatsinks that barely get the job done..Originally Posted by zakelwe
btw I bet that heatsink performs relatively well.. at least as good as an slk-800.. assuming you place a better fan on it.. strange but in the pic of the heatsink.. it looks like there is space for 2 more heatpipes.. maybe im looking at something odd.. heh amds planning for a future heatsink
R E T....
i think the two spots you mean are the back of heatpipes that come out of the heatsink on the other end
i am more amazed with the memory performance and timings. 2-2-2-7 @ 267mhz
yea pls do tell us what memory u are using.

misteroadster,
What's with Cpu-Z & Tras @ 0??
Can your ram do that or is it a Cpu-Z bug??
Then a screenie with Tras @ 1??
Don't get the wrong impression here, I'm just curious as to what ram can do TRAS @ 0 or 1...
BTW, nice CPU you got there...
Cheers,
Minh
